Recent Reviews About This Property
"Our dog friendly vacation was everything we hoped it would be at the Courage Cabin in Fleetwood, NC. This charming little hideaway was just as described. The cabin was comfortable and up to date with newer appliances, but still had that old world charm of yesteryear with an open fireplace, exposed beams, hard wood floors, quilts and rustic chic decor that made staying in very inviting. The fenced yard gave us peace of mind with our pups. We sure appreciated the owner of the cabin having tea, coffee and cocoa waiting for us when we arrived. We simply had to steep/brew a cup. We did venture out into nearby towns to enjoy the local cuisine. We discovered the cool, little town of Boone and a nice little place to eat, Wild Craft, which had great food. Sunny Point in Asheville also had delicious combinations of sweet and savory foods with interesting twists on comfort foods. We also enjoyed a great meal at the Speckled Trout Restaurant in Blowing Rock. We loved the many art galleries and unique boutiques and general stores with interesting finds around the area. We loved the cabin and the many opportunities for hiking and look forward to a return trip, perhaps next time in the fall for a color tour."
"The cabin is very nice and unique with the original built date being in the late 1800s. We loved sitting in front of the fire place in the evening. The views were nice down to the New River and along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Loved having the property fenced in for our small dog. Even though you have neighbors close by you don't even notice them with the vegetation on the property. We will stay here again in the future. "
"We enjoyed every moment of our stay. They thought of every detail and it felt like home!"
"Courage cabin was the perfect getaway! It has the most relaxing atmosphere with the fireplace, hot tub, the fully stocked kitchen, the king many great things for a great getaway! We loved it so much we booked an extra night while we were there. That process was super simple as well! We will definitely be back!"
"We fell in love as soon as we pulled up. The location, the cabin and grounds were great. The cabin was perfectly sized, wonderfully furnished, and cozy. It was clear that this was a restored original log home. The historic details remain but there are modern features and conveniences. Hope to return and experience yet another season."
"Always a joy to go to the Courage Cabin. It feels like a second home. The staff is always excellent in meeting our needs and are so friendly. They have become part of the family. Such a warm, relaxing and cozy environment!"
"Ok...maybe a few words. Pictures do not depict the beauty of the mountains or the cabin enough. So cozy we didn't ever want to leave and booked an extra night. Cabin is so adorable, immaculate and stocked with everything you could ever need. Groceries are very nearby. We are from Florida, so looking out over the mountains was a little emotional. :) The leaves were just turning and falling but it was still green and lush too. We went to nearby Elk Knob Park, so one word of advice if you bring your doggie, check them for ticks. The mountains are calling!"
"We absolutely loved this cabin! The furniture and beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is extremely well equipped and the appliances very good, and the décor is nicely understated (some places take the cabin theme over the top). The view from the deck is beautiful, the hot tub awesome and the fire pit was great. Plenty of wood provided and covered from the rain. So many thoughtful touches. The location is so quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to places you want to visit. The dogs loved exploring the property so the fence is fantastic! All the rave reviews are well deserved. The only negative comment is remember reading was regarding barking dogs from next door. Not an issue! A little barking the first day, but after all that's what all dogs (mine included) do when someone comes. We're definitely planning to return!"
"It was wonderful!!!! Clean place with everything you need, including firewood! Beautiful sunrise over the mountains!"
"Courage Cabin is a beautiful property - the setting, the views, and the interior design were all top-notch. However, this rental is not two full baths. The tub itself was small, the hand-held "shower" was awkward at best and you are unable to stand in the tub space because of the roof line. We found ourselves sharing the downstairs bath with our travel partners, something we had not anticipated. We would suggest a better description and photos of the upstairs bath. Would love to give Courage a "five" all around, but that upstairs bathroom was a problem for two average size adults. "
"This was the most cozy, clean and comfortable home that I have ever rented! They have everything you need to get away from it all! I told all my family and can not wait to rent this cabin again! They only unfortunate experience was that there were thunderstorms every night and lightning struck the solar panel that operates the electric gate. We were stuck for a little bit. The agency with the homeowners help solved the problem quickly. That was no ones fault but mother natures. I highly recommend this cabin for everyone!"
"This location was everything promised and more. We woke every morning to a different beauty. Sun coming over the mountains or an early morning fog resting on the mountain tops. Our two labs loved the location as much as we did and they were especially grateful for the guest bed provided for them. The house had everything we needed and the outside space was so well maintained. Hope to return soon for another stay. "
"We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Thought we weren't going to get up there at first. Everything was just lovely and we obeyed the rule--relax, relax, relax."
"This gorgeous mountain cabin was very clean with a fully loaded kitchen. The downstairs was perfect with large kitchen, cozy living area, full bath and good sized master bedroom. The upstairs which we didn’t use since it was just my husband and I and one dog was really cute with a full sized bed and Tv and full bath. But would would have been great if we brought another guest with us. The covered front porch had a swing which was handy to hang out when it rained. The amazing back patio and back yard was probably my favorite part of the experience. The view from the back patio was fabulous! Perfect for my morning coffee and afternoon yoga! Beautiful view of mountain mists in morning. I can’t say enough about the beauty of this place!"
"Our stay was great all the way around - except of the flat tire on the side of 221 at night! Of course that had nothing to do with the cabin!!! The cabin was very clean, had great new updates and provided the quiet we needed. We didn't turn on the TV even once! Just birds and conversation - how rare, right?"
"We had a wonderful weekend getaway at Courage Cabin! The attention to detail at this beautifully updated rustic cabin was unbelievable. The cabin itself is lovely but the view and outdoor spaces in which to enjoy it make it fabulous! The cleanliness of the cabin made us feel right at home & Im a clean freak with high standards. We wish it were large enough to accommodate our whole family but then wed have to share our secret getaway! ?"
"Exceeded our expectations in every aspect"
"When you think of the mountains you think of a peaceful place with a rustic yet beautiful cabin with a warm fire and amazing views. Courage Cabin is every one of those things exemplified. This was by far the easiest vacation rental and most surprising accommodations I have have experienced. We will be going back again and again. "
"Very well appointed and equipped home. New hot tub was great. Location was perfect for us. (Merlefest). First class in every way. Only two drawbacks were the loft bathroom too small for an adult to shower and the nearby gang of barking dogs would be annoying if we had spent any time there during the day. But I may stay there again next year. "
Response from StayBlueRidge:Thank you for the wonderful words as well as the feedback. We do understand, the neighbor's dogs do get a little riled up on occasion (usually when someone is coming or going) however they are harmless and usually settle down after just a couple of minutes. The owners, who spend a lot of time at the cabin agree, you only hear them now and then and it's not continued barking for any extended period of time. Also the upstairs shower is a little tight due to the roof line but a hand held shower hose has been added to make things easier.
"That is what the sign says right by the front door. And that is exactly what we did! Wonderful cabin on the top of a ridge with a beautiful view. Perfect for my family of 4 and our dog. Loved the fenced in property to run around in and play hide and seek. Relaxed by the fire pit and roasted marshmallows. Soaked in the hot tub, watched the sun rise, hiked the near by trails, ate at great restaurants in West Jefferson, spent great time together as a family! Highly recommend this cabin, very clean and cozy. It is a very special place. You know it was a great vacation when everyone was sad to leave and wants to know when we can come back!"
"This place is so cozy and has everything you will need. The upgrades to the appliances and deck are wonderful This is great for a small group of 4 and the view is gorgeous. about 15min to Boone which has just about anything you may want to do or eat. Or just stay home and relax."
"This was a perfect place for our 4 day get-away! The view was wonderful and the hot tub was a welcome treat. Our dogs absolutely loved the huge fenced yard. The cabin was clean, homey and well-equipped. We spent a day in Blowing Rock with lots of cute shops and restaurants.
I would definitely recommend this cabin for a stay near Boone, Blowing Rock or West Jefferson."
"A great little cabin. Perfect for my wife and I. I think any small family would love this place. The fireplace was awesome. WiFi worked flawlessly. Well-placed location between Boone and West Jefferson. The Property Management Company is professional and organized. Highly recommend them for sure. We hope to get back out soon."
"We had a lovely weekend in this gorgeous cabin"
"The cabin was absolutely charming and clean. We could not have found a better place to enjoy our 25th wedding anniversary getaway."
"Ive stayed in cabins in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the north Georgia mountains, and I have to say that this was the best one yet. It was very secluded, had a good view and had all the amenities we wanted. I always found what I needed in the beautiful kitchen. We used he fireplace every day as we were there in January. We even had a few inches of snow fall while we were there! The cabin was clean and smelled like vanilla and pine. So homey. Very appliance was top of the line and working properly including the outdoor hot tub. We especially loved this place because it was constructed from an old 1850s cabin from the area, yet was designed with 21st century conveniences. Its truly a beautiful place to stay and relax. We are quite familiar with the area, so we didnt need help finding things to do away from the cabin. We enjoyed the cheese factory in West Jefferson, driving and walking to the top of Mt. Jefferson and shopping in the great shops. We even met the photographer of one of the pieces of artwork hanging in the cabin! We drove up to Grayson Highlands State Park to try to catch a glimpse of the wild ponies. We didnt see them, but had a good hike to Wilber Ridge in the snow for a good view of Virginia. There is a notebook with some help with the area. Boone is a short drive away with good restaurants and Blowing Rock a little farther with More good restaurants and great shops on Main St. and a Tanger Outlet. We spent some time with my son who attends ASU in Boone. Bonus! ?. We love the Blue Rige Parkway with beautiful views of the mountains (closed while we were there this trip, but we expected that in January ??). If you like to ski, there is App Ski Mtn., Sugar Mtn., and Beech Mtn. We will definitely consider staying again!"
"We love this cabin and have returned to it multiple times when we need to get away and regroup. Stay Blue Ridge is the best property management company in the area. They are always accommodating and quick to respond should any issues arise."
"From the moment we walked through the door we loved it. Smelled great, very clean, high end kitchen, cozy living room with a gorgeous fireplace. The property appears to be on about 2 acres and completely fenced so let the pups have a blast. Hot tub was great overlooking a nice view (for how low of elevation your at). Our microwave didnt work but the PM company came that same day to replace it! Dont forget to bring paper towels- everything else is there!
Couple of cons:
The bathroom upstairs is not really a shower, due to the roof slanting in you cant stand in it. So we basically had the share the downstairs shower.
Neighbor dogs, loud at times (even when you try to holler at them) they dont shut up. The property owner of this cabin did put in privacy fencing which helps and there is no way your dog is going to even see the barking dogs because of the nice fencing. Our dogs just ignored them.
3) youre not really close to any restaurants or anything- maybe 20 min from somewhere, so bring everything you need!
Everything else was FANTASTIC. What a unique, one of a kind property. Wed definitely go back!"
"This beautifully decorated cabin is on a mountain ridge with everything you need to feel at home. The home was clean with an updated kitchen with plenty of room. Comfortable bed, real wood post furniture, a deck with a grill and an outside fire pit area. We Loved the hot tub. It is a good location to set out to explore the nearby small towns and Blue Ridge Parkway. The views from the deck morning and evening are incredible! I would highly recommend this cabin if you would like to be in a peaceful location and away from crowds. We will be back next year!"
"We had a wonderful long weekend at the Courage Cabin! My husband and I and our dog absolutely loved our stay. Such a quiet, private location that's within reasonable distance to everything in the area (Boone, Todd, river outfitters, etc). The finishes in the cabin are gorgeous, and there's absolutely everything that you need in the kitchen (don't bring anything but groceries). So amazing to be able to bring our little canine with us, too. We will definitely be back for another stay. "
"We never want to leave this place. We had to make this a working vacation but at least we had the hot tub at the end of the day and the peace and quiet thru all of our stay!"
"We made our reservation a god ways out and my wife was to have sinus surgery so she scheduled it right before our trip. Being at the cabin certainly helped her recovery. We really enjoy being up there."
"We were SUPER happy with our mountain rental this summer. It is a perfect location to feel like you are away from everything, yet a few minutes from downtown West Jefferson. It was very clean and the gates were wonderful to have with our 18 month old and 2 Chihuahuas. Every detail of the home was really neat. Just make sure you have an SUV. We hope to come back again!"
"This beautiful cabin is perfectly situated with a great view and privacy. Loved the decor and the large well-equipped kitchen with a coffee station! Like others have said, it is stocked with things that other rentals usually don't have. The cabin was super clean, even the windows! The grounds around the cabin were just as beautiful. We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. The bar-height table and chairs on the deck are a great idea to enjoy the view while having your morning coffee! The deck also has a nice gas grill. West Jefferson is close by and has everything you need. Just a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain less than an hour away. We would recommend this cabin! "
"The cabin is better than the pictures show! Beautiful inside and out. Great view, and everything you need for a great stay. Ate all our meals outside on the deck, great fire pit, and you feel far away from everything, but only 10 minutes to a grocery store and downtown West Jefferson."
"yes-the property is tricky to find. yes- the driveway is steep and bumpy. yes- the neighbor dogs bark occasionally. yes- the cabin is a perfect example of the rustic, remote cabin we have always wanted. Great amenities and a wonderful view"
Response from StayBlueRidge:Thank you for the feedback. We do recommend you follow our written instructions located in the check-in details to easily find this tucked away cabin. GPS can be unreliable in many of our mountain communities. The driveway is steep, you must go up to get the mountain views, so Front-Wheel Drive, 4WD or AWD vehicles do navigate our mountain roads more easily. Pets are welcome at Courage Cabin and neighbors have pets as well. We were very happy to hear this was a ?perfect example? of the rustic retreat you were looking for and we look forward to having you again soon. Future guests, if you have any questions about access to the cabin and your vehicle type please ask!
"We came up from Charlotte for my grandson's high school graduation. Our family enjoyed the view and camp fire!"
"We have been here twice before and this is one of our favorite rentals. As much as there is to do in Ashe County, we rarely leave. Our dogs love the yard and the owners even have dog bowls and dog beds. The view is amazing. Already booked another trip."
"It was wonderful, we enjoyed our stay. The rental process was easy and the staff was easy to work with."
"Courage Cabin was a great place to rest and find peace and quiet after enjoying our days at Merlefest. A great place to spend with friends around a wonderful fire enjoying the sunset. "
"We spent a weekend at the Courage Cabin, and I have to tell you it exceeded expectations in every way. The location was awesome as we were very close to West Jefferson and a short drive on Blue Ridge Parkway to Blowing Rock. The kitchen, upstairs loft, hot tub, and everything were perfect. It was extremely dog friendly, meaning there were dog bowls, dog beds, etc, however it was also immaculate, and you couldn't tell that a dog had ever stayed there. Every time I reached for something (spatula, lighter, TV remote, cutting board, etc), it was exactly where I would expect it. Honestly, staying in this cabin for a weekend, has me considering buying a cabin so that I can enjoy creating an atmosphere this nice and renting it out to others to enjoy. We will definitely be staying here again. "
"The cabin was clean, really well decorated, equipped with everything we needed and oh so cabin-y! With young kids the flat area around the house was great for playing, the fire pit was a great addition and the hot tub sealed the deal. The entire property is fenced in so it was also great for our dogs. And they have baby gates at the stairs and also have both front and back porch enclosed so it's safe for little kids or dogs. The fence is a little low in a few places so maybe not good for extremely curious dogs, but was fine for us. The living room is a little tight but the kitchen and bedrooms were large. The rental company recommended 4-wheel drive but we probably didn't need it (you would for sure in snow). Great, relaxing getaway for us and we'll be back. "
"My wife and I took some time away from work to relax and recharge and we were not disappointed with Courage Cabin. It rained most of the time we stayed, but there were enough periods of blue skies to enjoy outside. We are already looking forward to our next stay. "
"Wife and I were interested in an authentic log cabin stay and this fit the bill perfectly, but with all modern conveniences. Well-stocked with little things other vacation rentals don't normally provide. Secluded, great view, but close enough to things in town. "
"The cabin is well equipped with everything you need. Great view from the hot tub! A little difficult to find (especially when driving up in the dark), but felt very isolated and relaxing once you got there."
"We loved our stay at Courage Cabin. The cabin was well stocked with very amenity you needed. Including a great kitchen for cooking our holiday meal. It made our vacation so enjoyable to have everything we needed at our fingertips. We will definitely be back."
"We loved this place! We did not bring our dogs, but plan to next time. The whole property is fenced for dogs and the back deck is gated, if needed. We appreciate being pet friendly! The property has an outstanding view, I only wish the colors were at their peak!! The cabin was so warm and cozy, nicely decorated, and the kitchen is very large with all amenities. It was a perfect place for two people! I will concur with other reviews, that 4 wheel drive is essential in winter or after a long rain. The hill to get to the property is a steep dirt road and you have to stop to open the gate. We did not hear any barking dogs while we were there --very nice and quiet! We would definitely go back!!"
Response from StayBlueRidge:Thank you for your response. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your time here. Yes, four wheel drive is essential for this drive. Thank you again for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon!
"we loved every bit of our vacation here. wish we could afford to stay longer."
Response from StayBlueRidge:Thank you for your feedback. We are happy that you enjoyed your vacation. We also sent you an email on how you can afford to stay again with us! Thank you again for staying with us and we hope to see you soon!
"The cabin was very cute and very clean . We enjoyed our time in the rustic
Cabin. And it smelled so good!!"
Response from StayBlueRidge:Thank you for leaving a review and you are right, this property is very cute! We hope that you will come back soon. Don't forget the fall season will be here soon to see the leaves change to their beautiful autumn colors! Parkway is a short drive from this cabin!
"This cabin is beautiful, old rustic charm with everything updated inside. Extremely clean and maintained. The cabin sits on the top of the Mtn. and you can see the south fork of the New River in the distance. We highly recommend 4x4 vehicle to make the 40% incline of the gravel drive way."
Response from StayBlueRidge:Thank you!
"This was our 3rd time renting Courage Cabin. Every time my husband talks about buying it or getting one of our own. I wish!!! For now we're super happy to have access to this property that's perfect for us and our dogs. We don't have a problem with it but the man floor bathroom is a bit tight but it's still very functional. Being 1:40 from our home and being able to take our dogs is only part of what makes this perfect for us. Thank you, Owners!!!"
"We discovered CC getaway last year and loved the charming and peaceful cabin
so much that we enjoyed yet another stay to celebrate my Birthday and Mother's Day! My Mom loved the cozy ambience and spacious kitchen where we wined, dined, listen to tunes and played board games! We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi and picturesque Panaramic mountaintop views. Can't wait to return next year!!! "
"This was probably the best cabins we have stayed at in the area. The cabin is cozy, clean and has great views. The yard is fenced in along the gates on the deck. Boone and West Jefferson were close by, but we chose to stay in and take advantage of the large country kitchen, the grill, hot to band fire pit. We are looking forward to our next stay. "
" Cabin came fully stocked with all the amenities plenty of stacked firewood available for the fires both inside and out it was very clean and neat I would highly recommend this cabin "
"Friendly Booking` was able to work us in for a few nights when system was tight for availability. Just long enough to explore the New River areas. Picked up a beautiful Christmas Tree @ Clark's Evergreens and our daughter caught her first Rainbow Trout ;)! Wonderful views from back yard, bedroom windows & neighboring backroads. Cozy, well - stocked fireplace & amazing kitchen. T'was like a home away from home."
"The setting and cabin both far exceeded our expectations. The cabin is has very nice furnishings. The kitchen is a cooks kitchen. The view is spectacular. Our dog Murphy loved having the yard to explore. We will definitely be back."
"Beautiful cabin, gorgeous location, very pet friendly. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. My boyfriend and I actually got engaged here this weekend!! So it will always hold a special place. We would love to make this a annual trip. Great place!!"
"This rental is perfect for us. We like that it's small and private and away from the tourists. We had a bit of trouble with the gate but the staff fixed it while we were at dinner. Super service!"
"A very beautiful home! We stayed their for our honeymoon and it was quiet and had the best views with still being close to Boone and Jefferson. The driveway is serious about having a 4wheel drive but you know that no one would be bothering you or passing by. "
"Cabin and property is beautifully done, well organized and clean. The cabin itself is a masterpiece. Deck is lovely with gorgeous views. Very private location but you do hear people occasionally and dogs barking periodically. Kitchen has everything you would need and more, very nice appliances, beds, linens, etc. Groceries are only 20 minutes away. We'd loved being able to bring our small dog along and having the fenced property for her use as well. I would recommend at minimum an AWD to get up driveway. There is about 400 ft of 10 - 12% grade, then you have to stop for gate to open. We had no difficulty with a 4WD. Our friends had only 2WD and could not make it initially but with some effort later did. If your looking to get away from everything and everybody, this place if for you."
"If your looking for mountain cabin ambience this fits the bill! I have never felt so at home so far from home. Met up with family members and spent a perfect week here and about the area. All agree we wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing. "
"This cabin has everything you need for a great vacation - comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen, lovely property, great hot tub. The deck view is wonderful. The road and especially the driveway had some steep spots, but we didn't have any problems. It's a fair drive from stores and hiking spots, but we enjoyed exploring on some back roads. Our teenagers loved the hot tub as did the adults! A very peaceful retreat. Note - the neighbors dogs barked a bit, but never at night. "
"We had a great time. It's a great location with lovely views. Our only problem was that the stone driveway is very steep right at the gate to the property. Since we don't have an SUV we had some problems getting up the hill with a full car of people. "
"We had an amazing stay at the Courage Cabin. The views were stunning. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Perfect for families and couples looking for a beautiful mountain cabin. "
"The cabin is very nicely done mixing the look and feel of a real old mountain cabin with modern kitchen, nice hot tub and grill and great views. The location is convenient to Jefferson, West Jefferson and Boone and there are great places to explore all around. I would recommend and all wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle. The access road is dirt, gravel and very steep. My two wheel drive Honda CRV struggled at times to get up the hill especially after a good rain. We had a lot of rain the week we were there. Make sure you stop at the store and pick up what you need before heading up just in case there is a good rain storm."
"We had a great experience at Courage Cabin. The cabin was wonderful and very private. We did a lot of hiking and numerous trails were withing 30-40 min. of the cabin. We would definitely stay there again. "
"We have stayed in a number of cabins over the years and I would say that this cabin is one of the nicest. Grate location, very private. Enjoyed the hot tub and had a fire in the fire pit every night."
"Perfect mountain escape! My husband and I did not want to leave this charming cabin nestled on an impressive mountain top! We enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi surrounded by gorgeous panoramic views. We look forward to returning to the lovely Courage Cabin for a longer stay. Our o ly complaint is the late check in and early departure.
"We rented this for our honeymoon and were very pleased. This was our first cabin rental and we fear no other rental will come close. It is a fantastic cabin with all the amenities you could ask for. We cooked/grilled a lot and had everything we needed. Very secluded but only 10 minutes from town. We will definitely stay again. "
"This cabin is located in close proximity to the blue ridge parkway, Boone, and Blowing Rock. The cabin has 2 bedrooms but is really perfect for two. The view from the back deck is stunning and the cabin is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is large with plenty of space for your groceries. Our visit was very last minute and the management team went out of their way to make sure the cabin was prepared for our arrival. We would definitely stay here again. "
"I fear giving this review in that this may not be available the next time we want to get away. The best vacation rental , beach or mountains we have ever had. 1st class all the way. This house wraps around you like a warm and fuzzy glove. Amazing view. And talk about private. Clothing is optional."
"The cabin was great. When we arrived the house was decorated for Christmas and was perfect for our weekend to come to get a Christmas tree from a local choose and cut tree farm. The kitchen was stocked very well and we had everything that we needed. We also appreciated that the house had privacy. We will definitely be planning to book the house again."
"We had a wonderful time at Courage Cabin. We were greeted with Christmas lights in the front yard. I think the kitchen was better equipped to cook Thanksgiving dinner than my home kitchen. The hot tub was warm and ready to go. Our little dog loved being out on the back porch and loved that there was someone always ready to walk him. The location was beautiful and we really enjoyed our time there. Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful cabin with us."
"amazing!!! will be staying again as soon as we can! the cabin is decorated and furnished wonderfully, the entire family (including kids ranging from 13 to 5mo) had an AWESOME time!"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at the Courage Cabin. Everything was as described the cabin was very clean, well maintained and had everything we needed for our weekend getaway. we especially enjoyed the log fire and the hot tub. The cabin had great views from the deck and a great place to unwind. It was so peaceful
We arrived after dark so my only criticism would be that the cabin was a little difficult to find, a sign at the bottom of the hill and a light at the gated driveway would certainly have made it easier.
The cabin was only a couple of miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway which was also a plus.
I have recommended the cabin to my friends and I would definitely stay again."
"Our stay at Courage Cabin could not have been better. Absolute privacy, but near enough to Boone and West Jefferson to get anything you need. THe view from the deck is truly amazing. The hot tub made cool evenings most enjoyable. Comfortable and homey furnishings make you feel right at home. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes, and pots and pans. First rental we've stayed in that had sharp knives that were truly sharp. Great dealings with Ashe High Country personnel. Can't wait for next year's vacation so we can come back."
"great home. it did not feel like a rental we will stay here again"
"My husband and I are very frequent renters in the Ashe County area and we rarely rent the same place twice...but this cabin is the exception. From the moment you drive into the private gated yard you will fall in love with the lovely landscaping and the quaint log cabin that is perfectly situated on the ridge overlooking mountains and the New River. The inside is wonderfully decorated, king size master and a fully stocked kitchen that we enjoyed cooking in rather than going out to eat. I could go on with all the things we liked about it. This is one new to the rental market, and it is one that we will be coming back to....and I hope it will be soon."
