Jackson's Ridge Overlooking New River - West Jefferson

We enjoyed our recent stay at Jackson Ridge. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Quiet area and very relaxing stay. Looking forward to renting this home again soon.

The property is nice for a single family of any size. There was a bedroom downstairs we did not use. The house was clean and the kitchen has everything you need in it. We enjoyed the location being close to everything we wanted to do. The foosball table is nice for an hour each night and a hot tub dip. The decoration is homey but not cluttered. Also the porches are nice for meals. Overall it was everything we wanted. Thanks!

Jackon's Ridge is a nice house for those looking to get away. Had no problem finding the house on our way in. Once there we were very pleased that we rented this house. Plenty of room for everyone. Loved the jacuzzi. Centrally located to restaurants and shopping. Great group of people to work with. Would rent from them again.

Everything was perfect. The only thing was the street name was incorrect from our GPS. It was not Burgess Rd. However, once we found the cabin, everything was great. Thanks for the cleanliness and the homely feel of the place.

The place was incredible, everything that was advertised. My only slightest of complaints was that the driveway bushes need to be trimmed back. They were probably hanging a little lower from all the rain. I just bought a new truck and the limbs brushed down the sides of it coming in and out of the driveway. Other than that, it was an amazing vacation spot. We loved it.

Loved the house and the location. House was beautifully decorated. Will definitely stay again. Regarding renting through VRBO. The fees are excessive. We paid more in fees than the actual renting fee. Also, the shower in the basement does not drain well. Thank you.

Overall, we did enjoy our stay, the house is beautiful, the kitchen is amazingly stocked. The only downside for us, is that we prefer desolation when traveling to the mountains and you do not get that with this property. It sits close to HWY 163 so cars are going by constantly, it also has close neighbors. Not terrible, but not our preference.

Our trip was very lovely! Location was very nice and had a nice view. Only issue we ran into was actually finding the road that it was on. We were looking for the road on the left and it’s was on the right the whole time. It was very clean and seemed to have everything we needed. Definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again!!

The house was exactly as described. Very clean, roomy, with lots of nice additions (kitchen supplies, new washer/dryer, hot tub). Hot tub was awesome after a day of fishing in the cold streams. Heat in the house worked well. We were very comfortable. The Halloween blue moon was a huge bright ball in a very dark sky. Great star gazing

My husband and I stayed here for a week and we really enjoyed ourselves! Location was quiet and right off the river. River was across the street but beautiful panoramic views off the back porches! Enjoyed the hot tub and the cleanliness of the property! Would stay again and recommend to friends!

A nice family vacation home and convenient location. Was concerned by the proximity to the highway at first but turned out not to be noticeable. Kitchen was well stocked and property very comfortable. Felt like descriptions suggesting river access are not accurate as it is not easily accessible. Still would happily stay come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jackson's Ridge. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We spent most of our time sitting on the deck. The only downside was traffic noise from the busy road but it didn't really affect us that much. We were a short drive to several great hiking areas and as always, West Jefferson was a treat. Great visit! We didn't want to go home.

A small group came for Memorial day weekend and to celebrate a couple Birthdays. The house was clean. One thing to note is that the house is very well stocked in the kitchen, No need to bring any dishes, silverware, appliances, it's all there. Our favorite parts were the covered porches, firepit, and hot tub. All got a lot of use.

One extra kudos to Stay Blue Ridge is that we read reviews about the Grill not working and requested a new one put in for our stay and they accommodated. So there is a brand new working 4 burner propane grill at the house.

I would recommend this property.

What a great getaway. Home is exactly as pictured and better than what we thought. Super close to West Jefferson and Only 20mins from Boone. The home was very clean, beds were super comfortable, and it had more kitchen items than we expected. Everything we could have possibly needed to cook was available! We would definitely recommend this home. Only negative, the outdoor grill needs to be updated. It took 35-40 minutes to cook a burger and they were still not done. But everything else was perfect! We would highly recommend!

We enjoyed the home a great deal. However, the master version's mattress is extremely firm. The driveway can be difficult to get up and has a blind turn to the right.

We stayed here for Christmas with our family. Our parents sold our family home of thirty.years, so we needed a house near my sister's that could handle a crowd. We were pleasently suprise by the well stocked kitchen equipment, and the house was a great fit. The house.was very clean and the hot tub was amazing. The staff were very helpful with planning and very friendly. The house is also a perfect location, near grocery stores, hiking, and downtown west jefferson. We enjoyed the game room & fire pit too. We will definitely return!

VERY CLEAN GREAT LOCATION BUT BUSY HIGHWAY REMOTE FOR GAS LOGS NEEDS BATTERIES. This is my second time at this cabin and I believe it's my favorite! So well stocked, plenty to do and so comfortable! This trip was the first time I saw the owners comments book and wasnt to a pleasant surprise to find out they live in the next town from us...Smithfield NC. I love renting from this company as they are MORE than accommodating even in a last minute situation....WE'LL BE BACK JACKSON'S RIDGE!!!

This was the 2nd time we have rented this house and it was as perfect as the 1st time. Clean, well appointed, everything worked perfectly. The deer even wandered up and down the yard again. Ashe High Co. Vacations is easy to work with and make the check in process easy. Thank you!

The house is large and roomy. The main living area is very comfy with plenty of seating and natural light. Well equipped kitchen! Downstairs area is huge and as a result, you could bring a couple of blow-up beds and set them up and still have space. You could probably fit two families here without issues as it's so spacious. The ONE item that we came across is that the grill is completely broken and filthy. Only one burner will light, and it is so caked that it just smokes.

There is no salvaging this thing. We bought steaks only to find out we were out of luck.

Need a new grill.

Other than that, we had a great time!

Our family loved our stay at Jackson's Ridge. The home is well furnished, especially the kitchen, which had anything you could ever think of using. Our tween/teenagers enjoyed the Wii and foosball table downstairs.

The location is great! You are right in between West Jefferson and Boone. We spent one day in West Jefferson. Lunch at Boondock's was delicious. Ashe County Cheese was enjoyed by all.

The next day we headed in the opposite direction. We stopped at the Mast General Store, as we do every year. We were attempted to do snow tubing at Hawksnest, but they mean it when they say you should get reservations. It was NOT fun to drive up that mountain (my oldest has vertigo and was sick for a while after that one) to find out the next available time was four hours later. Instead, we went trout fishing and gem mining at Grandfather Trout Farm. We ended up spending most of the afternoon there and it was wonderful!

The evenings were spent relaxing at the house. The hot tub was great for that. Overall, it was a perfect vacation. Our youngest has already asked to come back to this home for our winter trip next year.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The home is comfortable and it was nice having two living spaces upstairs and downstairs. The hot tub took 6+ hours to heat up though. Lady bugs were literally everywhere. We saw this mentioned in the binder of information but it would have been nice to have the hundreds of dead bugs cleaned up before our arrival. Otherwise, it was a nice stay and we enjoyed our time there!

I loved this house. Comfy and spacious. Everything you need in the kitchen. Great views from porch and we loved seeing the deer come up the driveway every morning and afternoon. Driveway might be a little steep for some but we had no problem with our truck. Close to West Jefferson. Thank you

I spent the weekend at this cabin with my boyfriend and his family to celebrate an early Christmas. We had a wonderful stay and even enjoyed the hot tub and firepit on a chilly night. The house is comfortable for several people with a nice open floor plan . I couldn't have been more pleased with the management . We had several items shipped from Amazon to the house that ended up arriving before we did. The management team personally came to check on the packages and placed them inside the home for us. Top knotch!

The house is fabulous, as this is the second time we have stayed here. Everything was perfect, except for one thing... the neighbor house decided to re-roof their cabin over the weekend we were there. So, lots of hammers banging and workers occasionally looking over toward the hot tub. Clearly not the owner's fault, just made for a bummer weekend because the weather was so wonderful, it was just not great being on the deck.

We booked last minute due to some unexpected time off and this was the only cabin available. It is close to town which is nice, but has no privacy. You can hear the neighbor's TVs, and their dogs roam all over outside the property. The house is well equipped from DirectTV to kitchen supplies and comfy furniture so that is nice. Other than privacy the only issue we had is that the bedrooms and beds were SO tiny my hubby and I had to sleep in separate rooms (even though I only weigh 100# and am 5'2"). The company was nice and easy to rent through.

This is very out of the norm for a Jackson?s Ridge review and out of the norm for this time of year in general. Christmas week with temperatures almost 70 degrees had guests opening the windows which probably lead to the increase in noise. As well as we always have more activity in our second homes during the holidays. Normally our Jackson's Ridge is a top choice with repeat guests and a guest just last week who would love to purchase if it ever comes on the market for sale! Take a few moments to read the other reviews. Jackson?s Ridge is located at the end of the street, with only one neighbor, usually very peaceful and quiet and actually very roomy. I?m 5?8?, a little plump and feel there?s lots of elbow room.

This wonderfully clean, very comfortable and well-appointed home is in a GREAT location for getting out and about easily! If you are an active vacationer who likes daily outings, this is for you. However, if you are looking to get away from it all and have cups of tea /coffee on the front porch in the peace and quiet of nature you might want to look for somewhere else because of the almost-constant traffic noise from the highway at the foot of the property. Also, if you have dogs and/or younger children there is almost no flat for chasing a ball. It's a great house, but it depends on the location you need.

The house was wonderful. The only issues I had were the noise from the highway in the late afternoon while we were enjoying the rocking chairs on the deck and we could see the river but there was nowhere to access it. I would love to have been able to walk over to the river. We took three elderly people with us. One of the beds is rather high but was not a big deal. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Looking forward to our next trip to the West Jefferson Area and working with Ashe High Country Vacations!

We have visited mountains many times and stayed in a lot of different cabins but this by far has been the best. The cabin is decorated just right and is equipped with all the comforts of home. We had a great time around the fire pit and the hot tub was awesome!!!
