Lazy Dog Log Cabin - Jefferson

This was the cleanest property I have ever stayed at. The family friendly downstairs game room and hot tub were so much fun. The extra touches were nice too - such as the well stocked kitchen, cute dishes to the abundant amount of towels were appreciated. This would be perfect for a family that have dogs. If you are a dog lover you will love the interior design of this house. I cannot recommend this property enough! The host contact - Jerrita was very easy to communicate with.

This is the second time staying at this cabin and we love it! So nice to have the fireplace since it was cooler weather when we came this time and the dogs loved the fenced in yard! Such a beautiful cabin and nice area!

We spent a lovely two weeks at Lazy Dog Log Cabin in early August. The location is fantastic -- great walking opportunities within the neighborhood. The cabin was the cleanest we've stayed in, and we've been renting vacation cabins for over 20 years. The fenced back yard is really nice for allowing the dogs out, especially at night. The location is a bit of a drive out of town, but that is what we were looking for -- peace and tranquility. I definitely recommend this cabin and would consider coming back.

Our family had a great time at the Lazy Dog house. Despite 5 straight days of rain in June, we were able to visit several nearby towns and shops. The house was a great regrouping site just above the New River. The nearby Town of West Jefferson was excellent with shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the quiet and solitude of the Lazy Dog location. The house was clean and had plenty of space for six adults and our dog. we hope to return to this area in the future and will consider the Lazy Dog for our stay.

This was the perfect getaway. It's a great cabin in a safe & private area. It was just what we needed to completely disconnect. Excellent place to bring the dogs - the fenced in backyard is an unbelievable bonus I have never found in any other cabin I've rented. There was an issue with the TV but the management company was great at responding. Really pleased with our experience.

Lovely cabin in a beautiful gated community. Close to Jefferson Landing for golf and easy drive into the town of West Jefferson. Cabin was great for our family weekend of 6 adults. We hope to book this property again.

We had a wonderful time there. The place is beautiful and the house is too cozy. The manager is very friendly.  Amazing. I just have a suggestion: when you go during the winter, Don't forget to have car equipment with you in case of a snowstorm. We don't take it and we need to stay an extra day and pray to improve conditions. Thank you so much for all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lazy Dog Cabin. Very spacious with open floor plan. Having the Master Bedroom and bath on the Main floor was great.The porch with its Mountain View made it extra special. Our son, his wife, grandchildren 9 & 11 yrs old, and dog had plenty of space with the loft bedrooms and downstairs area, bedroom and kennel. Perfect place for people with a dog. The fenced in yard was a benefit, too. Being adjacent to the Wagoner Access of New River State Park made adventures in the park so easy and convenient. A very nice spacious rental for our two week getaway. Only concerns were TV - upstairs sound is very poor. Had to have person come out to finally get the downstairs TV to work on the Sky provider. Overall a very good visit. Just know it is out of town.

This place was just perfect! Everything was exactly what we wanted and needed. Great location - easy jumping off points for lots of different fun activities. Plenty of room to spread out. The back deck was a lovely place to relax. And my kids LOVED all the doggie decor :)

Great getaway home! Plenty of room to spread out! There is one nice large kitchen table (not 2 dining tables as the description says) that we sat 8 around comfortably. My kids loved the fishing pond and even used tubes to “swim “. My 15 yr old caught her first fish (and released it) the hot tub is perfect and in a screened in porch which is great at night!!!! The views are nice but you don’t see or hear the river (you can easily get on the river to canoe/tube 5 min drive). My dogs loved the house and having a fenced in yard was wonderful!!!! We took a short walk up the street and picked wild blackberries, saw a family of skunks, deer and plenty of birds! One thing you should know is there is no trash pick up so bring larger trash bags so you can transport to trash center. All in all very nice home in a nice county town!

Our family stayed a week on this beautiful property! Views of the mountains from the porch are gorgeous! Great place to enjoy morning coffee taking it in. Plenty of room for us all. Easy drive to West Jefferson and Boone. Hiked, floated on the river. A great time was had by all

We had a few issues when we first arrived, but it was handled fast and efficiently. We really enjoyed this cabin and hope to come back again real soon. This cabin has everything you need and then some. I loved the view from the deck, to the walks in the community, Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere.

Everything was super clean and marked clean for Covid procedures. The home is beautiful AND secure in a large gated community. Gorgeous view of the mountains and a creek running beside the property line. A secure outside fence for the family pet. Our stay was Amazing. We left early before the snow came. Next time will try to plan when snow is coming at the beginning of our trip :)

Wow! What an awesome place! Location is great... easily accessible; great views & privacy; close enough to necessities & activities...cabin is adorable! Very clean; idyllic; spacious; well maintained...perfect for your fur babies-fenced in yard; room with large kennels....

This was everything we wanted to enjoy our family for a nice long extended weekend... loved sitting on deck... new deck furniture! There was space & something for everyone to enjoy!

One suggestion... add a curtain to large master bedroom door/window that can be easily opened or closed.... I loved waking up to morning sun... it wasn’t too intense... & I liked having a little quiet time on deck before everyone else was up...but I imagine the summer sun could be a nuisance especially if you want to sleep in... or if someone wants to use hot tub but you’re needing privacy in the master bedroom

But regardless... we WILL be back!

The Lazy Dog Cabin was absolutely wonderful. We traveled with 6 people and 3 dogs and there was more than enough space and privacy and the cabin was very neat and clean. The hot tub and view from the porch was spectacular. The dog room with kennel was just an added plus! The cabin was also close to grocery stores and breweries we found in West Jefferson. I would highly recommend this location. Hope to revisit soon!

caveat: be prepared with food/basic supplies because of shortages/supply chain issues in western North Carolina. Jefferson and West Jefferson restaurants are not open daily.

Five senior adults with a small dog who loved the fenced yard. The back balcony overlook was the best happy hour location including lovely sunsets. We found a fun spot in the river to fish just around the bend from the entrance. It was a perfect floor plan for our family, each adult had a floor, LOL! We would all highly recommend & hope to return. BTW, it had a Bavarian waffle maker & a wet bar!! Heaven!

Had great time in super, roomy, comfortable Lazy Dog Inn. We used an alternative key code supplied by the owner because the one listed on our confirmation didn’t work.
Jefferson and West Jefferson have a lot of interesting things to do and see. We had a good time exploring the area and will plan to vidit again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lazy Dog Cabin. The location is great. There is a lot of hiking convenient to the house. We hiked Mount Jefferson, Mount Rogers and at the New River State Park which is very close to the house. The view from the back deck is beautiful and so private. We spent a lot of tine out there. The deck furniture could use some updating but we were quite comfortable. There were 4 of us. It is a great house for a dog. There is a room with a kennel and dog toys which leads directly to the fenced yard. The kitchen is well supplied. Because of the pandemic we brought all of our food and cooked in for all our meals, but there is a town that has a Wal-Mart that is not far. The house was clean and very comfortable. We had reliable internet and cell service which was important since my daughter-in-law had to telework. Prior to reserving the property, the representative in the office was so knowledgeable about the property and gave me excellent information. We had the perfect vacation and a much needed getaway during the pandemic. We definitely recommend this property.

We all enjoyed our stay at the cabin and the area. The ten of us, two grandchildren and eight adults all were comfortable on the three levels. The master bedroom did not have draperies or blinds so too much light interferred with my sleep. Jerrita offered assistance and that was appreciated. We solved the problem covering the glass door and window with a quilt, using padded shop clamps.

We had a wonderful time at the Lazy Dog Inn! The house was easy to find and easy to get to. It was spotless and and beautifully decorated with comfortable seating and beds. The layout was perfect for our family of 7. The porch overlooks the river and sitting out there is most relaxing. The neighborhood is beautiful with nice streets for walking (especially if you like the challenge of some hills!) and great views! River access is just 5 minutes away and only takes a few minutes to get to the nearest grocery store. We brought 2 dogs and they loved it too! The fenced-in back yard is a very nice convenience. We all definitely want to come back and stay here again!

When we arrived at the home, it was beautiful and very clean. It was spacious, yet cozy. Everything we wanted to do was a short drive. The views were spectacular! We have rented from this company twice and plan to book with them again in the future. We said when we left we would love to stay in this particular house again. We especially enjoyed putting one of their puzzles together!
