Happinest's spacious, deck lets you soak in the beauty all around you - OR soak your sore muscles in a sparkling hot tub under the sky. Gorgeous both day and night! The open upper deck includes the hot tub, rocking chairs, a gas grill and outdoor dining set.

The home's upper level provides the main living space, with an open floorplan, cathedral ceilings and lots of windows, so you can appreciate the home's natural setting from both inside and out. The kitchen is sunny and airy, with plenty of space to move around and all the tools and accessories you need for convenient home-cooked family meals or lively entertaining with friends. The roomy living area includes a beautiful stone fireplace with gas logs, brand new sofas and a large flatscreen TV with a satellite feed and a DVD player.

On the main level you'll find the master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and private bath with a walk-in shower. The two additional bedrooms feature a full-sized bed and two twins, respectively. These bedrooms share a full bath with a tub/shower combo.

When you're ready to get out and explore, you'll love Happinest's convenient location, with easy access to 221, which is the main road into West Jefferson, one of the most charming, old-fashioned small towns you've ever visited, only 15 minutes away. From 221 you can also get directly to 421, which takes you into Boone, Blowing Rock or the Blue Ridge Parkway. Here you really get the best of both worlds - a home convenient to all the sights and amenities you're looking forward to experiencing, and still secluded enough to provide the peace and privacy you need.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Happinest is easily accessible to and from 221, which takes you to West Jefferson to the north, or Boone, Blowing Rock or the Blue Ridge Parkway to the south. In 10 minutes you can be at West Jefferson's gorgeous, challenging and beautifully manicured golf course, Mountain Aire. Drive another 5 minutes and you're in West Jefferson's quaint downtown. Stroll down the main street to browse through shops, antique stores and art galleries.

Boone and Blowing Rock offer additional dining, shopping and event options, as well as the campus of Appalachian State, and the lovely Bass Lake, near the Moses Cone manor home.

Two natural attractions you don't want to miss here in the NC High Country are the New River and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway is one of the most scenic drives in America, offering some of the country's most awe-inspiring photo opps, as well as wonderful hiking and biking trails. When you're ready for invigorating water adventures, spend the day enjoying the New River by kayak, canoe or inner tube.

For the bicycle enthusiast in the family, Happinest is only a couple minutes from the scenic Railroad Grade Road - a popular, picturesque bike route meandering along the river from Fleetwood to Todd.

If you're visiting in the summer, your activity options are endless, from golf, zip-lines, horseback riding, hiking, biking, hiking, mining for gems, or assortment of water/river adventures. Fall foliage is indescribably gorgeous. Come in the winter, too, for just the snow, or sledding, snowboarding, skating and skiing at area resorts.

$50 per dog fee, up to 2 dogs.

Recent Reviews About This Property

"It was exactly the break my family needed. The house is surprisingly well stocked and very clean. The quality of the furniture and maintenence of the house is wonderful. The hot tub and views are amazing. Thank you! Everyone I spoke with was professional and courteous. We can't wait to plan our next trip!"

Kristina T. from Cary, 07/06/2016

"We greatly enjoyed our stay at Happinest. The location was perfect. We were close enough to drive into Blowing Rock and shop and eat and close enough to Boone to tour Appalachian State University with out daughter and enjoy a zip line tour. The cabin was located on a gravel road that was secluded enough to be quiet and relaxing while also allowing us a path to walk our dogs and enjoy mountain scenery. The rental was clean and well equipped. "

Terri W. from Rutherfordton, 09/21/2016

"We went for the weekend and the weather was perfect, this was our 2nd trip through Ashe county properties and just like the first the cabin was clean and neat with a nice note on the table on downfall with the cabin was the gas logs wouldn't light but with a nice hot tub and the trees changing colors who wants to be inside any way "

Brandon K. from Zebulon, 10/18/2016

"The location of this house if perfect for my family gathering in the area. It is also close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone, and Blowing Rock for many recreational opportunities. The hot tub is sparkling clean. I've stayed here before and would stay again."

from Morgantown, 12/02/2016

"The house was pretty much in a neighborhood and not at all secluded as we were hoping for. The gas fireplace did not work and though we could get the pilot to light and the fireplace to come on, it would go out after a minute or so (we have a gas fireplace in our own home and know how to operate so it wasn't a user issue). When we were in the hot tub on the deck, we noticed there was black smoke coming out of the chimney and black soot began falling on our heads and into the hot tub. Fortunately, my husband had noticed a boiler in the basement and realized it must have been vented to the chimney and that that was what was causing the smoke and soot. However, I feel this is something that should have been left inside the booklet so guests would not have been alarmed. Overall, the house was nice, comfortable, clean and a short drive to town, but was not the cozy, romantic weekend we were expecting and was very disappointed."

"We visited the home for a baseball trip at App State we finished our games more than hour early and called and the lady @ Ashe High Country Vacations & she was so nice and helpful she actually let us check in early which was a blessing because we were hot and tired!!! Entering the home it was very clean and it had plenty of things available for cooking and towels to use for the bath. The hot tub was very clean and it worked which is always a huge plus ... there was also a ping-pong table downstairs that the boys really enjoyed ... this home was well worth the money we spent it's only about 10 minutes away from Walmart and there's lots of other places nearby for shopping and gas. Thanks so much for such a pleasant experience!!! Would return "

Jose G. from Weston, 09/30/2017

"Overall we were sastified with the home. It is not the cabin experience we were expecting, but it is a well equipped mountain home. The location is convenient to West Jefferson and Boone, it has everything needed in the kitchen for preparing meals. The beautiful wooded view and the relaxing hot tub were the best parts for us."

Carl D. from Raleigh, 10/31/2018

" Our family of five enjoyed a very comfortable Thanksgiving holiday weekend here. Our son attends Appalachian State University so it was easier for us to travel from the coast to the mountains to spend Thanksgiving together. This cabin is easy to find, very clean, very comfortable and well appointed. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen, enjoy the fireplace, slept well, toured around Boone and West Jefferson, played ping-pong, did laundry, and had a great time. I highly recommend this cabin. Oh did I forget the hot tub! We enjoyed that as well."

Eileen L. from Newport, 12/11/2018

"Reunion with some old friends in this charming and comfortable cabin. No complaints...cabin and supplies inside were all good. Had a fabulous stay."

Donald M. from DURHAM, 06/25/2019

"We had a great family weekend in the Boone area! Lots to do and see and loved spending our tile outside! We enjoyed playing ping pong and sitting in the hot tub! The only advice I’d give is to let renters know of all of the road construction going on right where the road entrance to the rental is. We passed the road because it was hard to see with the construction. Otherwise It was a wonderful place to stay! "

from Cary, 08/21/2019

"We loved everything this place had to offer! It was in a great central location between Boone and West Jefferson. The cabin was very clean and cozy and the hot tub was well maintained. We will be booking this cabin again in the future!"

Matthew H. from Zebulon, 09/04/2019

from Sanford, 12/10/2019

"I had the best time celebrating my birthday with family and friends. HappiNest was easy to get to ( at night we had a little trouble finding the road) but other than that the cabin looks just like the pics, it was clean, the hot tub felt great. Booking and dealing with customer service at stay blue ridge was a breeze. The views are awesome and Im already ready to come back. Thank you stay blue ridge for your hospitality. "

The hot tub was great! The covered porch was excellent for relaxing and provided a great view! We are definitely staying again!"

from Hialeah, 01/08/2020

"The cabin was clean and prepped for our arrival and was easy to find and get to. The kitchen was well appointed and there were plenty of towels, extra blankets and pillows if needed. The grounds were well kept and we experienced no problems."

from Davidson, 02/19/2020

"This vacation was a gift from my husband for Valentine’s Day and my birthday which are 10 days apart. We stayed for 3 nights with our two doggies. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had in a long time. The hot tub was a wonderful feature and we even got a little snow. Very romantic and wonderful. Hopefully we will be able to go back this fall. "

Carolyn L. from Roper, 02/24/2020

"I really liked the location of this house, it's not far from West Jefferson, a short drive to Boone, Grandfather Mountain etc. It feels like you are in a tree house, we enjoyed the trees surrounding the house. One of the reasons we booked the property was the hot tub even though there were only two of us. Unfortunately the hot tub was not hot the first day and night and did not warm up until the next day. The customer service was excellent however, I called the first night to leave a message and was surprised the manager answered the phone at 9pm. The service person came out that night. Nothing was wrong with it, it was just filled at 11 am and it took about 24 hours to heat up. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves.

I have a few suggestions for the owners or managers that would make it even better. If you could add a few new cookie sheets, a pot or pan and a toaster. While the home was clean, I think the floors need a deep cleaning (bathrooms) and the small rugs could be replaced as they have seen many days. Again, all minor just wanting to give some feedback to the property management company.

We would have appreciated some sort of small credit since we booked 3 nights and could only use the hot tub 2 nights. With things mostly closed, our plan was to be around the house utilizing this. I did not request or raise the issue however. Overall I would use this company again, booking was easy online and the response time was excellent. "

Brandy H. from Clayton, 05/30/2020

"This great cottage is nestled in the woods and serves as a private retreat. Pictures and the descriptions accurately represent the property. It is conveniently located close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and is close to both West Jefferson and Boone. My wife and I had a great weekend and plan to return at some time in the future. "

Jeffrey J. from Summerfield, 06/02/2020

"HappiNest was the perfect home for a long weekend getaway. It was clean when we arrived and the hot tub was a great bonus to enjoy. When we arrived to the home it is located on a steep incline which was fine except the drive way is broken making it very difficult to turn up the driveway. The only way we were able to get up the driveway on a car was to back up the driveway which is not ideal. Other than that, it was a nice cabin and great for a getaway! "

from Castalia, 06/23/2020

"Convenience location. Nice comfortable home."

from Greensboro, 07/10/2020

"The property is nice, mostly secluded. There are two neighbors at a good distance through the woods. The hot tub was nice. The space was nice, but could be a little cleaner, mostly the floors. I am a housekeeper so I'm a little biased. Overall I really like the place. If you're staying in the winter, you need a 4x4 to get up the driveway or you won't make it."

from hamlin, 07/27/2020

"We've stayed here a couple of times and we will be back! Its in a great location to sit an do nothing or enjoy some awesome downtown shopping in 15 minutes either way! Everything about this house is fantastic! A great place to unwind with your family!"

Terri K. from sanford, 10/19/2020

"Really enjoyed Happinest. Had done a lot of research on different options/locations and thought this was the best combination of amenities and proximity to nearby cities and outdoor activities. It was close enough to get into W. Jefferson or Boone quickly, but also felt very remote when at the house amidst the trees. I don't think that the pictures do it justice and the house was better than expected. Loved the hot tub and ability to see the stars at night. The kitchen was terrific and had basic essentials. The closed off deck allowed a nice enclosed area for a dog to run around. Property management company responded quickly answering questions and responding to one issue. One suggestion is to upgrade mattresses in the master and perhaps also the 2nd bedroom. Very happy overall, thanks. "

from Fredericksburg, 10/27/2020

"Enjoyed Thanksgiving week at Happinest. Relaxed and had fun hiking, riding horses, shopping - enjoyed West Jefferson, Boone and Blowing Rock."

Brian J. from Wilmington, 12/02/2020

"We enjoyed our stay very much. We were thrilled and surprised by an early season snow storm just prior to our arrival to make the place truly a winter wonderland. I most definitely suggest investing in chains or a 4 wheel drive vehicle if renting during the winter months. The pictures do not do justice to how nice the place the really is. It is very comfortable and perfect for a family get away. Just far enough from the hustle and bustle to get away and relax but still close enough to all the local attractions to be able to enjoy them when you need to get out of the house for a bit. The kitchen is very adequately equipped with everything you would need to prepare meals. The grill was perfect for dinner and the hot tub made for a relaxing treat to end our days with. It was great to be able to have our dogs along with us and the extra care and provisions made to make them feel welcome was an awesome bonus. I would highly recommend Happinest to anyone looking for a quite relaxing time away."

from Bartow, 01/05/2021
