Recent Reviews About This Property

"This was a very nice place just outside West Jefferson with easy access to anything you could need. Very private as listed and an awesome view of Phoenix Mountain. We will go back for sure if its available."

Clayton W. from Hampstead, 10/25/2016

"We had a great stay in October at Phonenix Rising! It is a beautiful cabin and very well equipped. There is a great little park by the river in downtown Lansing and then it is an easy drive into West Jefferson (where we went to the farmers market) "

from Fayeteville , 10/27/2016

"The cabin was as advertised, great location, and very convenient to West Jefferson and the great, small town of Lansing. It took less than 30 minutes to get to Grayson Highlands State Park. The cabin was very clean, spacious, and well supplied with everything you need. The view from the front porch and the hammock were perfect. We would absolutely stay again!"

from Asheville, 05/10/2017

"Lovely view and spotless cabin. Kitchen was well stocked and there were nice restaurants close by in West Jefferson. The management agency is so very helpful and was available when we had questions. I would recommend for one or two couples."

from Winston Salem, 05/16/2017

"The cabin felt very comfortable and the view was excellent. The location although not isolated was secluded and very pleasant.

Jake R. from Jupiter, 09/10/2017

"My family was very pleased with this rental. No complaints. Our experience with realtor has been very positive. "

Richard J. from Tarboro, 10/20/2017

"Home was clean and well equipped. View from front porch was beautiful! Very steep driveway!!! Close to many hiking locations, which is what we wanted!"

Deborah F. from Raleigh, 11/01/2017

"We were there at the peak fall colors time this year and it was so beautiful. It is obviously a well-taken care of home. We had a wonderful time. Unless you have a four-wheel drive, would not recommend if there is snow/ice on the steep driveway. Thanks for sharing your home with us. "

Lisa B. from Knoxville, 11/17/2017

"Our time at the cabin was wonderful. We were able to enjoy our stay and sleep well. The only concern we had was that the loft was very hot and had little privacy and the rooms below were very cold but other than that it was a lovely stay and we hope to go again soon. "

disney g. from MIAMI, 01/05/2018

"The cabin was extremely clean, spacious, private, and had breathtaking mountain views. I would highly recommend this rental and plan to stay there again!"

Annette M. from Rising Sun, 03/16/2018

"We loved the house. Super cute. Beds were comfortable. Regular sheets would have been better given the weather. Flannel sheets were a little warm. We did have SEVERAL bees and wasps that we had to kill inside. I know cabins can be prone to inside bugs but it seemed like a lot. Beautiful area and a short drive to West Jefferson and Grayson Highlands. Pizza place in town was worth the wait!

"I had looked at several but this one seemed to be right for us. Need to get away after Florence and my sister needed a few days away because she had lost her home to the flood. Was very happy with the cabin. Quiet and private and the view of the mountains while you sat in the porch swing was truly a sight to see. We were all very pleased with this property."

Gwendol L B. from Wallace, 10/04/2018

"This cabin is tucked away and yet very accessible. It is equipped with every small detail. Very simple but incredibly confortable! Great front porch! "

from Miramar Beach, 11/28/2018

"We found this property available for a last-minute trip to the mountains, at a very reasonable rate. The cabin was clean, spacious, and was perfect for our long weekend. The wood burning stove worked great, and we even used the little gas grill outside. The beds were comfortable and we loved the porch furniture. The shower situation was a little challenging, but the water was warm. The driveway is steep, and we were concerned about the bad weather one we just didn't leave the house. Our family would definitely stay here again!"

Jon N. from Summerville, 02/21/2019

"Quiet private cabin with great views from the front porch. The cabin had everything that we needed for our 2 night stay. The driveway is fairly steep and narrow, but manageable."

from Youngsville, 05/01/2019

"The cabin was very nice. The cons: STEEP driveway, but it is the mountains, so should be expected. Unlocking, Opening, closing, and relocking the gate at the bottom of the driveway every time we came or went was annoying in and of itself but also because of the steepness of the driveway. However,I would stay there again. "

Blake H. from Clayton, 06/12/2019

"My family loved this house and it's location. Yes the driveway was steep but just don't stop and you will be okay. The house was clean and well laid out for our family. We played tons of cornhole and got quite competitive. The yard was in much need of being mowed but I will say we booked the week of our stay so it was understandable. We ate at Shatley Springs, Pie on the Mountain and the Mountain restaurant in Lansing and would for sure go back to each of them! I would stay here again and I would recommend it to others!"

Stephanie L. from Star, 08/14/2019

"We love this cabin and have stayed here a number of times. It’s always clean and the kitchen is well equipped. We usually enjoy the loft bedroom, but the mattress has apparently been replaced and it’s hard as a rock. The screen door at the front has a big hole in the bottom which prevented us from being able to leave the front door open for fresh air. The grounds desperately need attention. The grass was looked like someone mowed “at” it and the shrubs at the front porch are so tall that you can’t enjoy the view of the mountain. I suspect the overgrown shrubs contribute to the Yellow Jacket issue. Buy some hedge trimmers y’all! The paved driveway is a plus for motorcyclists and it’s pet friendly but you’d never know it when you walk in. Other than poor grounds keeping this cabin is really cool. The rental management company is always a pleasure to deal with."

Suzanne B. from Garner, 10/16/2019

"Was very clean. Beautiful views of the mountains from the front porch."

from Titusville, 10/23/2019

"We enjoyed our weekend stay very much! Very nice and cozy cabin with a beautiful mountain view! The only negative is that the beds could use upgrades."

Cathy J. from Kenly, 11/19/2019

"Nice home in a nice little town, home was well equipped with everything u need and small grocery store a couple minutes away or a Walmart not too far."

from Groveport, 07/01/2020

"Love the location for this vacation rental!
Great parking area that is paved. Beautiful long range mountain views. Close to Lansing and 15 minutes from West Jefferson. House is adequately stocked with everything you need in the kitchen except ice trays or just buy a bag of ice. If you like a firm mattress, you will be happy. I prefer something a little softer so I would recommend a mattress pad. The only thing missing outside is a fire pit. It was advertised in the listing. Look forward to staying here again soon!"

Cindy A. from Dunn, 10/26/2020
