Life is better at 3000 feet! Come relax in the mountains with the cool temps offered by elevation! Located close to the village of Todd, in southeast Ashe County, you'll love the access to the South Fork of the New River just a short walk away at the Todd Island Park, where you can fish, wade or tube to your heart's content. This community offers a lake with a picnic pavilion for more water options.

The cabin features ample outdoor living space - open decks on the front and back of the means, depending upon the time of the day, you can choose sunshine or shade in the woodland setting which offers seasonal views of the river. There's also a balcony off one of the upstairs bedrooms, and a large covered deck off the family room, allowing you and your guests to scatter for alone time, or gather together, as each space is big enough for a party, except for the balcony, which is perfect for tea for two.

In the evenings, your family and friends will enjoy the fire pit or you can compete in a friendly game of air hockey in the family room, or choose from one of the many other games available. Or in cooler weather, light a fire in the living room fireplace and settle in for an evening with a movie. The selection includes local network stations, Netflix and more. And when your group can't agree what to watch, you'll be pleased to discover another TV in the family room, and one in each of the three bedrooms.

An open floor plan keeps the flow in the public rooms, where you'll find a full kitchen with everything you need for a weekend or a week or more. Gather round a dining table for 8, or chill on the comfortable leather sectional sofa which opens to the elevated deck.

Downstairs the den offers an air hockey table / ping pong table and a futon for extra sleeping. You'll find a large dedicated laundry room, too.

In addition to the futon, the home features three bedrooms, one on the main floor with a comfy king-sized bed, and 2 more bedrooms upstairs. One of those features a second king-sized bed, and the other has 2 fulls and opens to the balcony. For everyone's convenience, there's a bathroom on each floor.

With so many of us traveling with our dogs, we wanted to make sure you knew that your dogs are welcome at Serenity 3K.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
That's the mantra in real estate, and it applies to vacation rentals, too. This cabin is only minutes from the celebrated village of Todd and the heartbeat of the community - Todd Mercantile - a bakery, café and gallery where Helen and her staff will tempt you with deliciousness. If you are here for one of their dances, an invitation to join in stands for everyone. If you yearn for adventure, just around the corner is the River Girl Fishing and Outfitters, and they'll set you up with kayaks, canoes, inner tubes, bicycles and bait and tackle.

We love the location of this cabin for day trips to enjoy the shops, restaurants, antiquing in Boone or West Jefferson, about 20 minutes in either direction. If you're here in the winter, you can be at Appalachian Ski Mountain in 35 minutes. The Zipline and Snow Tubing at Hawks Nest are 50 minutes south. The cabin is about ten minutes to jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway for some of the most amazing views in the Carolinas. Head north and visit Doughton Park and the historic Brinegar cabin (milepost 238) or head south to milepost 294 and visit the Moses Cone Manor and the Parkway Craft center. Your options for exploration are bountiful. If you go to Moses Cone, bring a picnic lunch then stop in for a stroll through Blowing Rock.

$50 per pet fee, up to 2 dogs.

StayBlueRidge, located in downtown West Jefferson, offers over 50 quality vacation rentals in West Jefferson, Boone and surrounding areas.

Recent Reviews About This Property

"I was a little apprehensive since this was our first cabin vacation with our kids and grandkids and our first time in the area, thankfully everything went great. The convenience of reserving, locating and checking in/out was amazing. The cabin details and photos accurately describe the property. We especially enjoyed the fire pit, hanging out in the hot tub and playing ping pong. We visited Tweetsie Railroad, Mystery Hill and rode around on the beautiful Parkway. The yard is private and secluded. Our only challenge was having the little ones outside since there is no play area. The older children were able to run around and explore a little. There is a great playground nearby, appropriately named “Green Valley Community Park”. We are grateful for the family memories and wonderful vacation experience. I would definitely recommend this company and property to my friends."

"Our Labor Day weekend in Serenity 3K was wonderful. The location of the cabin is perfect - just far away to feel remote and close enough to Boone and Jefferson to be connected if you choose. The cabin was well stocked - we did not to need to run to the store for any easily forgotten items like hand soap or paper towels. The only bad thing was a smell in the house - stronger in the basement (where you enter the cabin) - it was the smell that makes me rate it 4/5 instead of 5/5."

"We had a great time at your home. Everything we could of needed was available
To us. We had rain on our weekend and didn’t get to use the camp fire or the
Hot tub. But jut having my family together was great fun. House was beautiful. But it does have a lot of stairs, so just keep this in mind."

"This is a nice house but there are some drawbacks if you have any physical issues, like me. There are steps from the bottom floor to the second floor where the kitchen, bedrooms and main bathroom are located. You have to use the stairs to exit out the front door or the walk along the side of the house is very unlevel. The driveway is very steep and tricky if you are on a car. Anything 4 wheel drive should not be a problem. We enjoyed seeing the hummingbirds and deer in the back yard. We went and bought a feeder for the hummingbirds! The back yard really needs some maintenance to level out some areas, remove some stumps, etc. We loved having a fire in the fire pit outside. We enjoyed our stay but this place is not for a person with any physical disabilities. "

"Everything was wonderful. The only complaint I have is the path leading up to the house was overgrown, the path leading down to the firepit was overgrown. Had a wonderful stay, beautiful home, everything one could want was included in the home."

"Beautiful area of the country which is totally under appreciated. Todd NC lacks the trappings if a normal vacation tourist trap but is perfect if you want to unplug and relax. Coronavirus threw a wrench in the normal vacation destinations for us but I’m so glad it did! "

Joseph H. from Beavercreek, 08/09/2020

"A beautiful place but cell phone connection and unreliable wifi and I could not get the car up the driveway. There was a lot of someone's personal stuff in the house. The hot tub and poaches were great. "

"Plenty of space for 2 adult couples to stay comfortably, great fireplace in the living room - so cozy, loved the fire pit outside in the afternoons, loved the hot tub, the beds are extremely comfortable, lots of games and movies available, well equipped kitchen, close to great trails and hiking. Thank you! We had a great stay!"

Samantha H. from Raleigh, 11/04/2020

"This cabin was a wonderful place to get away with our family for the Thanksgiving holiday. We had plenty of room and enjoyed the amenities. The location was great and allowed us to take a few short excursions while still being safe. No real complaints other than some dust and lots of cobwebs in all rooms. It could have been due to no one being there recently before we checked in. Wifi was great except for one evening, but not a real issue as the hot tub was even better. "

"The house is 40+ years old (but so am I), and it fit our family of 5 perfectly. Once more people came, it became a little tight, but we made it work once we utilized the basement (bottom floor). The futon is in the basement, which was a perfect playroom and bedroom for the kids, but it was COLD! The fireplace in the there was off limits, and even with a space heater, it was really cold. The living room on the middle floor was very cozy and perfect with a fire in the fireplace on cold winter days. The upstairs bedroom with the king size bed slept well, but it often had huge, slow moving flies that kept coming in the closed window. One night we killed 8 flies before going to bed. We finally taped up the window, and all was well. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Serenity 3K. It was the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life and slow down for a bit. It would have been nice to know that there is no trash pick-up, so we had to drive 20 minutes to the West Jefferson dump to take out the trash. Otherwise, the house is in a very quiet area with other houses scattered around, and the neighbors that we saw were very friendly. We enjoyed walking down to the river to get some exercise and take in the scenery."

"My wife, our 2 sons & 4 legged husky son had an awesome experience staying at Serenity 3K. The house was maintained properly, every equipment, tv, hot tub, kitchen appliances, kids games and other entertainment, everything is in good shape and works. Kitchen is fully loaded with all necessary utensils. My wife and I really appreciated when we noticed they kept basic ingredients to cook/grill food, though we did not use those as we had our own. We were there for 4 nights, wonderful time, already shared with a few of our friends, we will visit again.

We also shared this in our youtube channel (it is not a commercial channel, mostly contains family vlogs). You can find it here "
