About Quatre Vents Log Cabin in West Jefferson
- Pet friendly w/ fenced dog yard
- Wood-burning stone fireplace - firewood bundles available nearby grocery store
- Minutes to Downtown West Jefferson
Quatra Vents - the four winds - is aptly named, sitting only a couple hundred feet below the 4000 foot peak behind it. The log cabin is located only minutes from West Jefferson, but you'll feel like you have the world to yourself. The cabin enjoys views in the late fall, winter and spring through the end of April. In the summer you'll feel you're in a treehouse with the birds and other wildlife passing by.
A wall of windows stretching high to the vaulted ceiling will make you say, "Wow!" The living room is centered around the stone wood-burning fireplace soars two stories. On cool evenings you can gather around, and imagine you are back in time, except all the modern conveniences remind you that you're right here, right now. And where you are is lucky enough to be in the High Country mountains.
Quatre Vents has an open floor plan with the kitchen and dining room just off the large vaulted living room - you'll say "wow" when you walk into this soaring room. The pine walls and floors are the perfect foil for the owners' creative use of black and red buffalo plaid throughout the tastefully decorated cabin. The comfortable living room seating includes a sofa and a futon (sleeping for extra guests). From this beautiful room, you step out onto the open deck where you'll find several tables for al fresco dining. If you gather to watch television in the evening, you'll have the entire Netflix selection at your fingertips. There's a TV that swivels between the dining room and the living room, and one in each bedroom on the main floor.
The kitchen and dining room are open to one another, with counter seating for two, and 8 at the dining table. Stylish metal chairs are complemented by comfortable cushions made with - you guessed it - buffalo plaid fabric. The well-designed u-shaped kitchen is bright with plenty of counter space, a double-sink, dishwasher and an armoire-style fridge, plus a gas range. Just one step onto the porch makes this cabin accessible.
There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor, as well as 2 bathrooms. In the evening, after a day exploring the area, you'll sink into the comfortable queen bed in the master bedroom (with en suite bath), where you'll find a chair that's perfect for getting cozy with a good read. In the other bedroom you have a king-sized bed which converts to 2 twins. Upstairs in the loft, you'll find 4 twins adorably decked out in more buffalo plaid.
This cabin is also pet friendly - better still, there's a fenced dog yard where you can let your pets outside from the kitchen without having to go out yourself.

"VERY NICE CABINET BUT NEED TO DO DEEP CLEAN"
"We loved this home! Not only was the home beautiful & very comfortable, to have the large awesome yard for our dogs was icing on the cake!
Everything was supplied that we needed.
It was very clean & the beds were very comfortable!
We would most definitely book this home again when we come back!"
"We escaped to the mountains for a few days and found this lovely fenced property so we could take our dogs. We enjoyed coffee and wine on the the porches and by the firepit. We will go back for sure! Notes: It is evident this is a dog friendly house due to the dog hair under furniture/tv stand. We like our coffee strong and there is only a Keurig machine. "
"Quatre Vents is a really good spot, if you're bringing dogs. The big lot is fenced in, and there is a separate close-in fenced area if you want to keep the dogs close. The kitchen is big, and we liked the den and porch. You're near the top of a mountain and very secluded."
"This was one of our favorite places to stay. Many memories were made in the beautiful backyard around the firepit. Still had easy access to Boone and lots to do there. The house was stunning. Felt cozy and home and there was everything we needed there for us. Many thanks for a much needed distraction from life!!"
"The Cabin was clean and we enjoyed out stay.
The drive to various destinations was easy and close.
We really enjoyed the fire pit and had smores. The kitchen was equipped with plenty of cooking items: frying pans, cookie sheets, pizza pan, a casserole dish, measuring cups, and LOADS of plates. There were enough towels provided for all of us who stayed there. WE Loved opening the windows and letting the breeze come through. The deck had plenty of seating and the kitchen table was great to play games at as well as have breakfast every day.
The description needs to list some items more clearly. There is a Charcoal Grill. The 4 beds are in a loft area that has a sloped ceiling -great for children not so much for a 6' tall man. There are hooks, hangers and a small shelf provided for your clothes but not an actual closet.
I probably won't stay here again because we really need 4 bedrooms. We did enjoy our stay and it was so secluded we only heard birds. Our dog really enjoyed the fenced in area and it was easy to keep track of her.
Thanks again for lending your home to us. WE LOVED the BEARS. and ENJOYED OUR STAY!!!"
"First time renting a cabin. The place was clean, quiet, secluded, yet close to stores and civilization if we need to get things. Ms. Judy, the property manager was very helpful and friendly. I would give it 5 stars, but we had an issue with stink bugs in the house. I know, it's a cabin in the woods, but we encountered 20+ stink bugs a night. Finally figured out that if you keep the lights off, they stay away. Overall wonderful experience. Love the drive through the mountains. All wheel drive is a plus, but probably not needed, although the drive to the cabin was pretty steep, but manageable."
"It was a beautiful experience !"
"The cabin was wonderful, clean and a very nice place to stay. The driveway and road to the cabin is very steep so i would suggest four wheel drive. Our dog absolutely loved the fenced yard to play in."
"Thoroughly Enjoyed our Stay. "
"We loved Quatre Vents cabin! Great location and on a very private lot. Our dog loved, loved the fenced in yard! And it made things very easy with letting her in / out. Close proximity to town & trails. The cabin has a very homey feel and is very well maintained. It has plenty of room to relax and enjoy yourself. A definite plus is the stone fireplace & the fire pit outside. We would definitely recommend and be returning with family in tow! "
"We spent a wonderful week at the cabin in West Jefferson. Sitting on the back porch overlooking the enormous fenced-in yard was heaven. Our dog loved the freedom to investigate such a large, safe space. We also took advantage of the outdoor fire pit and grill. We loved the seclusion of the cabin but the close proximity to the cute town of West Jefferson. When you go into town be sure to eat at Havana Cafe and The New River Brewery. We will definitely be back!"
