Let the sun shine in at River Hills Vistas! Sunshine fills the bright, airy 4-bedroom retreat located about ten minutes north of Jefferson. You’ll delight in the expansive porches and decks from which to take in the breaktaking views.
Almost every room in the house enjoys the remarkable vistas – from the large, sunny kitchen to the living room to the upstairs Master Suite to the downstairs family room. Better yet, there’s plenty of covered porch on both levels from which to soak in the mountain air. A wall of windows on all three floors tell you it’s all about the view here.
On the main level the kitchen offers tons of counter space and counter seating. The dining room is big enough to feed a crowd. Also on this floor you’ll find the living room with comfy seating and a large TV and a wood-burning fireplace. A half-bath is located conveniently nearby.
The first of the four bedrooms is on the main floor, with an en-suite bath and a queen-sized bed.
Upstairs you’ll find a huge master suite, with Texas-sized bedroom and bath. There’s another cozy queen bed, and the bathroom has a separate shower and tub. You don’t even have to get out of bed to soak in the view each morning.
The lower level offers two more bedrooms – one with a queen bed; the other with two sets of bunkbeds. There’s a family room with a TV, so older kids can have their own space. A game table encourages a friendly card or board game. If you want the teens to have their own snacks, there’s another fridge on this level in the laundry room.
Everyone will enjoy a soak in the hot tub, or an evening spent around the firepit for s’mores. Or you can head to the common area on the river and swim or put in canoes and kayaks. Upriver at the bridge on North Fork of New River Road, you can float to the common area and take out right there in the neighborhood. Or you can head to one of the various outfitters in the county, from Todd to Crumpler, to rent equipment for your adventure.
The house is located about ten-minutes north of Jefferson, and from here you are set to explore everything from the gamelands at Pond Mountain (less than 40 minutes) to Grayson Highlands State Park (35 minutes) both accessed through scenic back roads. At Pond Mountain you can drive to the top for some of the most remarkable wide-angle views you’ll find in the county. You can stop in Lansing for lunch or dinner at Pie on the Mountain for some outstanding pizza, or visit the Molley Chomper Cidery for a taste testing of their many fun flavors. On Friday nights, check out the music jam at the Phipps General Store, which is less than 5 minutes away.
The town of West Jefferson is only 15 minutes away! Check out the farmers market (produce, baked goods, cut flowers, plants and crafts) on Saturday mornings from 8 to noon! Stroll the many shops, galleries, antique stores and restaurants in our thriving downtown. On the first Friday of every week there’s a concert on the Backstreet, and throughout the summer you’ll enjoy festivals like Christmas in July, the Old Time Antiques Fair (September/October) and the On the Same Page Literary Festival (September) bringing favorite and new authors from across the region to our little mountain town.
Don’t forget the Blue Ridge Parkway – you can head north to Doughton Park, or South to Blowing Rock and the Moses Cone Park. Views are yours for the drive up Mt. Jefferson (located in West Jefferson) or you can get out of the car for a picnic or a hike. And there’s plenty more to do in Boone if you want to explore farther afield.
There’s always the option of just chillin’ – the porch invites you to be still!
This property is pet friendly. There’s a $50 per pet non-refundable fee.
