The Bear Hideout Log Cabin - West Jefferson

We spent a wonderful weekend with some of our family. The cabin was perfect, well stocked and had something for everyone to enjoy!! The views were spectacular. We will definitely be back!!

Would absolutely recommend! We had a group of four (2 adults and 2 kids) plus our dog and the cabin was perfect. It was comfortable, very clean and had everything we could have needed. The highlights were the incredible views and the game room downstairs. The size was perfect for the four of us…six would have been fine but a little snug. We loved it and will be back again!

What a great time at the Bear Hideout! Had a great getaway with my husband and dog. The house is very clean, comfortable, and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, kitchen appliances (blender, food processor, slow cooker,etc.), spices, and so many coffee filters! The view was very enjoyable. Beds were comfortable. House is close to West Jefferson. Access road to house is gravel and uphill. AWD/4WD is best to have to get to house.

Just as shown, this amazing little hideout is just what you and your family need! Absolutely beautiful Mountain View's, lots of variety in the game room for ALL ages, and the perfect fire pit.

This cabin was very nice. Beds were very comfortable. Very clean. Not a lot of parking but we only had one vehicle so was fine for us. Gravel drive up.

Such a great mountain hideaway. Clean and relaxing like home.  We did do a fire one night and it was a very nice fire pit and we made s’mores. The sunsets were beautiful. We loved having the games to play on the deck and basement. We would definitely love to come again.

The Cabin is just Awesome!, it has 3 stories with 1 room in each one. It has 2 decks with beautiful view. 2 and a Half baths, the kitchen is huge and living room is so cozy. Definitely 5 starts for this place!

We had a wonderful time at The Bear Hideout Log Cabin. We were there for our daughters graduation from App State and stayed a few extra days to enjoy some time with her. The house was so comfortable and clean. We had plenty of room. The view was beautiful. We will be back and I will tell our friends and family about the cabin.

We booked this home for a spring break getaway and could not be more pleased. The home was perfect - great layout and the views were amazing. This was the cleanest property I've encountered in years of travel! The customer service was outstanding from Stay Blue Ridge. We will definitely return to the Bear Hideout!

This cabin was a dream to stay in. Everything about it was perfect. There was plenty of room. Everything was clean and the view was breathtaking. Our only comment would be to make sure you have either a 4x4 or an SUV. The road up to the cabin can be a little treacherous!

Great location close to town, yet private. Great view. Beds were comfy and there was plenty of room and all the amenities. Only draw back was the TV set up. Upstairs only had dvd. Downstairs only games. The main tv was very small and only had roku, but you had to have your own subscription to access any tv except local stations. Prime, nexfilx…. None of those were accessible. Other than the tv issue, everything was great. The property management was great to work with.

My husband and I enjoyed a great long weekend getaway. The cabin was very private with a great Mountain View. Close to a few fun hikes and waterfalls and we always enjoy downtown West Jefferson. The loft was nice for relaxing and reading. It was bigger than we needed but we would return with family in the future, lots of space to spread out, and we love pet friendly cabins to bring our good old boy dog who loves the mountains too!

I booked this for my family and we really enjoyed it. We at first had a hard time finding it, but after a few minutes, we were able to find it.. The space, the cleanliness, the overall stay was amazing. I was able to call and get a quick response on something I needed help with. Walmart, and eating places was about 15min away so the distance wasn't bad at all. The kids were also very happy and kept saying how nice it was. The deck view was beautiful, we saw the sunrise and sunset and how amazing that was. My wife definitely said that we have to do this again. I wish we would've stayed longer. Thanks for such a great stay. Will definitely do it again.

Very cozy cabin. Perfect for my Girls getaway with my grown children! Keyless entry was amazing and the views were nice. Quiet and private even saw a couple deer. Very convenient to everything! Definitely coming back. Basic cable and plenty of movies provided, if you want to waste your time watching TV. Good for rainy days. Thanks to “stay blue ridge” for saving us money vs vrbo, etc.

I have rented many cabins over the years but this one is top notch. Everything we could want or need was there and it was spotless upon arrival. Beautiful views and nice areas to walk and explore make this cabin appealing to adults and kids alike. I can’t wait to return soon!

The cabin was super clean and well stocked. We loved spending crisp mornings on the decks and the kids loved playing in the game room. One of the best rentals we have had. We will definitely be back!!

We had a great time at this cabin. There was plenty of room, and lots of things for teenagers and young kids to do. The decks were an added bonus. We enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking coffee each morning. We are planning to stay here again. I highly recommend

Great house and area. Only two negatives, driveway is steep/narrow and only one of the 3 TVs has local channels and the other two are for video games and DVD.

My family stayed at The Bear Hideout just before Christmas in 2019 and had a wonderful experience despite a few bumps in the road. The home itself is wonderful, the kitchen was well stocked with equipment and the home had plenty of room for everyone. The view was absolutely spectacular. We have been renting homes in the mountains for 10+ years and this home had the best view by far.

The management company was excellent to deal with and made sure we knew what to expect before we arrived. Check-in was a breeze, although parking for three vehicles is pretty tight.

On the second night, the water heater went out and after a phone call to the after hours line, it was fixed in less than an hour or two. This is something that no one can prevent or expect, but Ashe High Country Vacations was quick to have the problem fixed and really saved our vacation.

I would have no problem recommending this location or the management company to friends and family.

We stayed there for New Years and had a wonderful time!! The cabin is very spacious and has lots of seating. There are plenty of linens, towels and kitchen supplies which was awesome! There is also lots to do in the basement with two gaming tables and lots of board games. The younger kids and adults both enjoyed that immensely. Not far from Boone and only a few minutes from the supermarket and drug store. The only downside we had was that there isn’t a kitchen table (you eat at the island on barstools) so it’s not very accommodating or comfortable for 8 people and their are only 6 bar stools. Also only one person can use the water in the house at a time. For ex. you can’t be cleaning the dishes in the kitchen and someone goes to take a shower. You loose water pressure on both ends. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone!!
