Great place for my grandson and myself. Everything we needed! Loved it!

This is our 2nd visit to this cabin. It was very clean, well stocked throughout.With a reasonable pet fee, I was able to bring our pup.Very accomodating. The big yard with fire pit is wonderful!.It's very quiet and nice sitting by the New River in your back yard.Hopefully we will visit again!

We had a nice weekend getaway at this cabin on the New River. The cabin was rustic and welcoming. The fire pit near the river was excellent. We enjoyed our stay. The only suggestion I would have is to bring bed pillows; the ones provided were only about an inch thick and uncomfortable.

Our family enjoyed our stay. The location by the river was perfect. We were able to tube and paddle and play in the water. We will be visiting again.

A Frame of Mind was a great spot on the river for a long weekend of fishing and hanging out with family. The circular stairs were a bit problematic but over all the cabin worked well. It was clean and well appointed for a little cozy space. Will go back again for sure.

The cabin was great. It is in a little neighborhood but the houses on both sides of us were vacant so it was very quiet and peaceful and the river view was beautiful. The only minor complaint we had was that there was supposed to be a grill on the property. There is a pit outside but unless your planning on grilling a large piece of meat you'd better bring your own grill. Otherwise the stay was perfect!

We stayed for a weekend. The house is clean and kitchen is well stocked. Beds are comfy, the porch location is lovely and we really enjoyed the fire pit and sitting by the river. I think for a short stay it is perfect.

Great property on a beautiful river. Had a great time. Not a bad drive to Grayson Highlands and the VA Creeper trail. Only issue we had was the full size bed was not quite large enough for us. Overall very happy with our stay.

We had an AMAZING time at A Frame of Mind! The A frame cabin was adorable and the perfect size for us and our dog =) The river is probably 25 - 30 feet from the back porch and the soundtrack to a relaxing few days away. The fog in the morning and the afternoon light coming through the trees is stunningly gorgeous. Not a complaint but just an fyi the hammock by the river and the Adirondack chairs by the firepit in the pictures are not present. That could have posed a problem had I not been a habitual over planner and brought my own chairs. I recommend to update the site when items are removed just so guests can plan what they'll need to bring with them =) The kitchen has everything you need, the wifi worked great, the TV had several options including all regular streaming options, and the small air conditioners kept the house cool. We loved this place and told all our friends and family about it!

The house is adorable and the property is perfect for a nature escape! We love the river and wanted a place to escape and relax by the water and this was perfect! We brought our dog and he has a blast. The river has great shallow spots near the house and then gets deeper towards the woods. Water shoes highly recommended, since the river bottom is sharp with rocks! The house is well stocked with kitchen/home needs! Plenty of blankets and towels to stay warm and dry. We got a good day of rain but the house was perfect for just staying in and watching a movie or reading a book. The second "bedroom" is up tiny metal spiral stairs and is cutely furnished. The second bedroom is an open loft style floor and gives a nice view of the river and the A frame of the house. We loved staying in a neighborhood and the feeling of a nice community with friendly folks.

We had a great stay. The lot is large and the access to the river is fantastic. We went down to the bridge and tubed back. After a heavy rain the river was muddy and fast so we were glad we went tubing before the rain. The cabin is small but had everything we needed. The kids loved the loft. There was AC in both bedrooms but we didn't really need it overnight. You have to take your trash to a center but it was fairly close and open until 7 pm. Neighbors are not too close and we liked the easy access to West Jefferson.

My husband and I really enjoyed staying here. It was super clean,(thank you, Housekeeping!), and well equipped. The weather was nice, and we had a fire outside in the evening.I enjoyed sitting next to the river,it was soooo quiet, all you can hear is the water. Watch your head around the staircase!! We would like to visit again!

The house was very cute, well stocked and had a nice gated deck so our dogs could go outside without the fear of them running away. Everything was spotless. My only complaint was that the master bed was very worn and slept more like a hammock than a mattress as it sunk towards the center at a pretty steep angle once you sat on it. I’m not sure if it was the mattress or the box springs that was the culprit as the mattress itself was not lumpy..just extremely saggy. Everything else though was great!

This house was perfect for a weekend get away. The kitchen has everything you need. The latched gate on the porch is perfect for pets. Listening to the river at night by the fire pit was so peaceful.

LOL, our trip started for 10.5 hours of driving IN the rain to arrive later than anticipated. When we pulled in, we were shocked to find a car in the driveway. The property is so unique and "just perfect" that we were like...this has to be the place?!@?! The owner was there. Well, now some people might be like...well that was weird. It was an easy mix up of dates and the owner is terrific! We exchange emails now and her daughter lives less than an hour from our home in FL!! So, we have been keeping in touch. What a way to make a new budding friendship. For those who LOVE camping but are "too old" to crawl into a tent and would love to have a real bathroom. THIS IS THE PERFECT place. The cabin is just darling and extremely functional. It's not ridiculously fancy that you are afraid to sit down -- it is real, it is fun, and just perfect. We brought along a small grill and cooked most of our meals outside. There is an adorable fire pit that we utilized even in the rain! It rained a lot while we were there. My husband and I are outdoorsy folks but simple. We have high stress jobs and the cabin allowed us the get away we needed. We easily drove to many dog friendly parks and activities. People are friendly and helpful. GPS-Nav systems get a little confused from time to time in the mountains, but that was fantastic as well. We are looking forward to revisiting when free time allows.

Very nice. The guys could put their kayaks in right from the bank and go downstream fishing. It was secluded and the cabin was adorable.

We had a great time with our 2 boys and our dog. This it a small place. But very clean. The river is right in the back of the house. There is a bridge my husband and boys went into the river with tubes and came right back to the house, about a 20 min ride. We later took kyaks from the bridge by the Fleetwood post office, right back to the the back yard. It was about a 3 hour trip! It was wonderful! There is a small A/c in the loft and in the bedroom, but not the rest of the house. So it was a bit warmer than I'd like. But it was still great. Would love it if they added another AC unit. Keep in mind it's a small place with an RV sized bathroom, but what more is needed for a little get away trip! Loved this place! Beautiful �� also the bed in the master bedroom is a full, Wich is a bit smaller than what my husband and I are used to. My issue was that it was so soft we were rolling on top of one another lol so people with back issues may have a problem with this! But the place was very clean and nice soft sheets and blankets, great internet, Netflix etc. But no basic TV cable.

Lovely A-frame on a large lot in front of river. We brought our own tubes and went tubing almost every day. Fun to tube right up to your property. Small and cozy for a family of 4 (including two teenagers). Did several gorgeous hikes nearby. A/c in each bedroom area but really didn’t need it. House was well-supplied and thoughtfully arranged. While it was in the mid-90s in most areas, the mountains stayed in the mid-8os during the day and mid-60s at night. No biting insects, which was wonderful. West Jefferson and Boone are cute towns. Would have loved to spend time in the hammock pictured but it was not up. We enjoyed ourselves!

House is adorable, well stocked, comfortable, very clean, and in a really pretty setting right along the New River. The owner clearly thought of everything one might need. We spent most of our time sitting on the deck or in the yard listening to the river. River is ideal for kayaking and tubing.

My husband and I spent a wonderful and peaceful long weekend at “A Frame of Mind”. The location was so relaxing!! You could hear the river right off the back deck! The property is also very open and easy to move about outside. Inside the cabin, the small space was used very well with a lot of innovative touches. The bathroom is a small, but we managed fine. We will definitely be back!!
