Indoor Spaces

• Sleeping arrangements: The primary bedroom on the main floor features a king-size bed and a private bathroom. A second bedroom can be found on the upper level with a queen bed and a futon. The third bedroom is also on the upper level, featuring a twin-size bunk with two beds. Each room has its own Smart TV!

• Main level: Gather around the gas fireplace encased in a beautifully-crafted stone hearth. The Appalachian-style woodwork gives a true log cabin feel but with contemporary amenities. Mosey on into the kitchen to find all stainless steel appliances perfect for whipping up a home-cooked meal. This cabin is stocked with fun for all ages, including board games, video games, and darts.

• Upper level: Upstairs is home to more than just bedrooms—there’s also a reading nook and air hockey table in the loft overlooking the great room.

• Adventure River Cabin comes with WiFi, AC, and Smart TVs.

Outdoor Spaces

• Step out onto the back deck, where you’ll find a hot tub for soaking and a ping pong table for playing. Ample seating makes for a great relaxation space.

• A second covered deck at the front of the cabin provides even more room for spreading out and listening to the sounds of nature.

• Follow the back deck’s stairs down to the outdoor stone firepit, perfect for roasting s’mores and surrounded by comfortable Adirondack chairs. A picnic table is also steps away, so take a seat and enjoy the daytime mountain views and nighttime stargazing.

Local Surroundings

• You are just a short 15-minute drive away from downtown West Jefferson, home to popular attractions like the Ashe Co. Cheese Factory and a variety of shops and galleries. Hit the town for dinner and a drink at one of the many tasty restaurants, including casual fare and fine dining options. Some of our favorites include Red Dog Bar & Bistro, Thong Summit Thai & Sushi, and New River Brewery. Head out on a Saturday evening to Boondocks Brew Haus for local brews and live music.

• West Jefferson isn’t the only nearby hangout spot. Within 30 minutes is the town of Lansing and its historic Creeper Trail Park that takes you along the NC Heritage Trout Waters. Drive 40 minutes southwest of the cabin and you’ll end up in the larger town of Boone, home to Appalachian State University. Take a day trip up to Boone to discover even more shops and restaurants that show off the unique cultural flair of the High Country.

• The South Fork of the New River is only minutes away, with the popular outfitter Zaloo’s Canoes within a short drive of the rental. But the river is far from the only outdoor attraction to enjoy—Mountain Aire Golf Course is within 20 minutes and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Mount Jefferson State Natural Area is also close by, with some of the best panoramic views you can find in the High Country and easy hiking trails the whole family can enjoy.

• Visiting in the winter? Make sure to check out Appalachian Ski Mountain, located in Boone, where skiers and snowboarders can find thrilling slopes. App Ski Mountain also offers snow tubing and ice skating, as well as lessons for less-experienced shredders.

• Access: Easily accessible and located just off Hwy 88. However, the roads can get icy, so we recommend AWD or 4WD when traveling in the winter.
