Camp 4 is a cluster of log-cabin-style tiny homes located one mile from downtown West Jefferson. Cabin #1 is named after North Carolina’s iconic and beloved Grandfather Mountain. From the famous mile-high swinging bridge to incredible panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Grandfather Mountain is home to some of the best sightseeing in the region.

Sleeping arrangements: Camp 4’s Grandfather Mountain cabin sleeps two in a king-size bed.

Main level: Experience the convenience of a tiny home with the amenities of a full-sized cabin. A fully equipped kitchen features a mini fridge, microwave, cooktop, and dishwasher. The living area and bedroom each have their own FireTVs. During the winter months, cozy up next to the gas fireplace. Freshen up in the bathroom, featuring a tiled walk-in shower.

Camp 4 Grandfather Mountain comes with WiFi, mini-split AC and heating units, and streaming-enabled TVs.

All Stay Blue Ridge vacation rentals include a complimentary starter pack with soaps, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, dishwasher pods, and trash bags.

At Camp 4, you are within one mile of downtown West Jefferson. Take a leisurely walk or drive into town to explore the many shops, boutiques, antique stores, and galleries West Jefferson has to offer. You have plenty of options for food and drinks, with some of our favorites including Red Dog Bar & Bistro, New Rivery Brewery, and Boondocks Brew Haus and Restaurant.

This central location puts you less than a 10-minute drive from many of Ashe County’s biggest attractions, such as Mount Jefferson State Park, Ashe Co. Cheese Factory, and Old Barn Winery. Seasonal festivals and gallery crawls are a must, so take note of all of the local events happening during your visit.

Just 30 minutes away is the larger town of Boone, home to Appalachian State University. Head up to App State to catch a football game in the fall, or take an adventure to King Street, Boone’s main downtown strip. Close by is the town of Blowing Rock, a quaint mountain town filled with unique shops and restaurants.

Visiting in the spring, summer, or fall? Journey out to the historic New River for a relaxing canoe, kayak, or tube float, or take a drive on the famous Blue Ridge Parkway for some of the most stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains you can find in the High Country.

During the winter, you just have to make time for a trip to Appalachian Ski Mountain for a fun day filled with skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and ice skating.

Access: Camp 4 Tiny Cabins are located directly off US 221 and are easily accessed year-round. For mountain adventuring and winter travel, we recommend 4WD or AWD.

Parking: Camp 4’s Grandfather Mountain cabin has one parking spot located in front of the cabin.

Camp 4 Tiny Homes do not come with a washer/dryer. Please plan accordingly.

What a wonderful little cabin! It was perfect for one person. Loved how close it was to downtown West Jefferson. The bear motif was just perfect! The only thing that it could use is some type of shades on the windows above the couch, it causing a huge glare when trying to watch tv. Will plan to stay again!

These beautiful tiny cabins are right in downtown West Jefferson. Tucked off the side of the road, private, but close to all the shops and dining that West Jefferson has to offer. We thoroughly our 2nd stay with you! There were two things that were issues. We totally ran out of toilet tissue and had to purchase a pack. The thermostat didn’t seem to be accurate. Thermostat was on 63 degrees the entire stay and it remained quite hot in the cabin. Had to sleep without cover.

The cabin was absolutely perfect! It is in a great location to town and has all of the necessary amenities. The water pressure is fantastic, parking is great, and it's a level walk to enter the cabin. This was the second time I have stayed in this cabin and hope to do so again. What a great idea to build these cabins! It is so much better than staying in a hotel. You really get the feel of the mountains as these cabins are built and decorated so tasteful to fit the experience. Being someone that uses a cane to walk if I could add one thing it would be to have some sort of bar and place to put your soap and shampoo in the shower. Cabin was clean upon arrival for our weekend stay. Check in to the cabin was simple as well. It was in a great location just outside of the shopping and dining but also close to the grocery store for essentials. Cabin pictures were spot on to what was provided in the cabin, I would recommend just bringing a few extra bath towels for a longer stay. Bed was new and very firm (not my type but some people may love it) I would definitely stay here again maybe in the summer to enjoy more of the area.- Richard , Posted: 11/15/2023
