Camp 4 is a cluster of log-cabin-style tiny homes located one mile from downtown West Jefferson. Cabin #4 is named for Mount Whitney, the tallest contiguous mountain in the U.S. At a peak elevation of more than 14,000 feet and located in the Sierra Nevada region of California, Mount Whitney offers one of the most challenging (and rewarding) hiking adventures in the west.

Indoor Spaces

Sleeping arrangements: Camp 4’s Mount Whitney cabin sleeps four. The bedroom features a king-size bed, with additional accommodations available via a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living area.

Main level: Experience the convenience of a tiny home with the amenities of a full-sized cabin. A fully equipped kitchen features a mini fridge, microwave, cooktop, and dishwasher. The living area and bedroom each have their own FireTVs. During the winter months, cozy up next to the gas fireplace. Freshen up in the bathroom, featuring a tiled walk-in shower.

Camp 4 Mount Whitney comes with WiFi, mini-split AC and heating units, and streaming-enabled TVs.

All Stay Blue Ridge vacation rentals include a complimentary starter pack with soaps, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, a roll of paper towels in the kitchen, dishwasher pods, and trash bags.

The front patio comes equipped with comfortable patio furniture. From the patio, you can catch views of Ashe County’s most famous peaks, Mount Jefferson.
Local Surroundings

At Camp 4, you are within one mile of downtown West Jefferson. Take a leisurely walk or drive into town to explore the many shops, boutiques, antique stores, and galleries West Jefferson has to offer. You have plenty of options for food and drinks, with some of our favorites including Red Dog Bar & Bistro, New Rivery Brewery, and Boondocks Brew Haus and Restaurant.

This central location puts you less than a 10-minute drive from many of Ashe County’s biggest attractions, such as Mount Jefferson State Park, Ashe Co. Cheese Factory, and Old Barn Winery. Seasonal festivals and gallery crawls are a must, so take note of all of the local events happening during your visit.

Just 30 minutes away is the larger town of Boone, home to Appalachian State University. Head up to App State to catch a football game in the fall, or take an adventure to King Street, Boone’s main downtown strip. Close by is the town of Blowing Rock, a quaint mountain town filled with unique shops and restaurants.

Visiting in the spring, summer, or fall? Journey out to the historic New River for a relaxing canoe, kayak, or tube float, or take a drive on the famous Blue Ridge Parkway for some of the most stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains you can find in the High Country.

During the winter, you just have to make time for a trip to Appalachian Ski Mountain for a fun day filled with skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and ice skating.

Access: Camp 4 Tiny Cabins are located directly off US 221 and are easily accessed year-round. For mountain adventuring and winter travel, we recommend 4WD or AWD.

Parking: Camp 4’s Mount Whitney cabin has one parking spot located in front of the cabin.

Camp 4 Tiny Homes do not come with a washer/dryer. Please plan accordingly.

Very nice little cabin in West Jefferson! Loved the all wood interior. Wife and I have been renting cabins in the mountains for the past 42 years and this one is in the top ten for lots of reasons. It was super clean, very accessible and affordable! Really loved the king size bed! Perfect size cabin for a couple! We'll be back!

So cute, very clean, bed was very comfortable. 1 mile from town. Great shopping, Got to see a Christmas parade. If you want to try a tiny home, this is one you should try. We would stay here again.

Great place just the right size for my short stay. The place is arranged nicely has a nice size bedroom and bathroom, the main room works well, small two burner stovetop was nice for cooking breakfast and dinners. Would recommend this place for a short stay could stay longer if there was some type of laundry onsite. Other than that, it has everything you need to make your stay wonderful. This cozy cabin is the perfect place to stay while visiting the West Jefferson area. We were just a stone's throw from the center of town, but just far away to be out of all the traffic. Everything it the cabin was new and sparkling clean. The only suggestion I would make is that there needs to be a sign out front that is visible after dark.- Douglas , Posted: 10/21/2024

Mt Whitney was the perfect escape for us! The decor was beautiful and very well done, comfortable and cozy for the 2 of us. Location was great, close to town and just a short drive to Boone, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain and Blowing Rock.
