My family had a great experience while staying at the new River Farmhouse. It was supplied much more thoroughly than I anticipated. Very clean, etc.

I love the "old farmhouse" the way it is and its perfect location. My husband and I referred to it as Grandma's house.The smell and originality of the home brought us childhood memories.The perfect location by the river allowed me to kayak directly to the house.I put in at Gentry Rd.bridge and gave me a 1.5 hour on the beautiful New River. New River Outfitters is just up the road if you don't have the means to transport your boat/tube.Another perfect location aspect is that you're only a short drive to West Jefferson for groceries, dinning, and shopping. We are ready to come back already! Simply sitting on the porch taking in the scenery or reading a book was refreshing. Thank you! 😊

What a wonderful home to get away to and relax! Beds and furniture are very comfortable and the area is quiet with very few cars coming by during the day. The river is just so relaxing and our dog enjoyed romping around in it for sure, then drying off near the campfire pit and around the grill. Loved watching the tubers and kayakers go by. Just so peaceful and relaxing. No fish were caught but, we still had fun trying. The water is soooo clear! Thanks and we will be back!

We had a wonderful time at the New River farmhouse.The house was perfect and we loved sitting on the porch watching the river go by,we did a lot of that.The kids came up Saturday and fished and played in the water.They had a great time.The bed was very comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed since we eat every meal there and actually didn’t go anywhere because we really didn’t want to do anything but stay there.Its just what we wanted!

The interior immediately reminded me of going to my grandmother's house when I was a child. We enjoyed the pictures that were hung throughout. The owners stopped by to check on us and made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed talking with them and learning about the property. This stay was to allow my family to get together and celebrate my wife's birthday. We had some family drop in for the day as we grilled steaks and celebrated this milestone. Everyone was thrilled to get together at this beautiful farmhouse. We will definitely be coming back.

We 💯% enjoyed our stay at the “Farmhouse” for the past week!! A small, cozy little place to relax, lay our heads and even welcomed our two dogs!! The house may not seem like much to some, but it was giving off “grandparent's house vibes”. (Nostalgia) The AMAZING river access was one of our favorite parts of getting this house. My husband spent every morning on the porch with a cup of coffee, then within minutes, was in the water fishing. The Farmhouse is located around 20 minutes from down town West Jefferson, the Cheese Factory, Shopping Centers, etc. Overall, we are pleased with our stay and thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We recommend this vacation rental!! ❤️

This quiet getaway is conveniently located across the road from the New River. It has a great sitting porch with rockers, allowing a good view of the river. Outside amenities include a fire pit and charcoal grill. There's even a picnic table for riverside dining. Great location for kayaking or tubing down the river.

This was a great place for a weekend getaway for a group of 6 (4 adults, 2 children). We were initially concerned about potential traffic being that a road separates the house from the river. However we found only 3 vehicles passed by over the course of 3 days. You have the entire area to yourself. The amenities were awesome especially the starter kit. They have an excellent heater to keep the house toasty at night and great wifi service. I highly recommend and we will definitely return.

We just love being here and spend our days talking about when we are coming back! Nice, quiet, cozy, serene and tranquil. The kids play in the river with dad while I just sit in the sun and listen. Just what we need! Also, SBR is super awesome and quick to help with anything that may arise(ie broken coffeepot). This is always just hands down lovely for us.

This has been a perfect short stay getaway for our family and just the 2 of us for 2 years in a row. The location is unbelievable and the home is quaint and has a-lit of character. Just wish it had a washer and dryer. We will be back every year possible!

We had made plans at another house, (different owner as well). The house became unavailable the afternoon we were traveling, but the owner of that house found this one for us and had already contacted the agent. This house was perfect for us and our friends to enjoy a little time away. The house is a great size, clean, has a well stocked kitchen, and much more. Basically, it had everything we needed! It snowed while we were there and the owner came by to make sure we were okay and had everything we needed. It is a cozy house and we would definitely come back!! Thanks so much.

We were very happy with this vacation. The location was great. It was private and everyone enjoyed the river experience. It was a little bit tough for some to get in and out of the river, but once you were in the water it was a nice part of the river to walk around in. I had fun fishing in the New River. The creek was nice also but not good for fishing.

Property is in great location off the beaten path and has everything for a couple night stay you need. If you are wanting to fish, however, it's a difficult spot to fish from the bank and the creek is really small and low this time of year. For the hardcore fisher, I'd come early spring or later in the fall. for the family that wants to float the river, it's awesome. And the fireflies at night were spectacular. We'll be back definitely!!

The house is on a very quiet road, ideal for walking. Picturesque by the river, but 10/15 minutes from Jefferson/West Jefferson. While it is a quiet road, it snowed while we were there and our road was ploughed by 11am the next day - very impressed.
The decor is definitely old, but everything in the kitchen worked, and there is plenty of kitchen equipment, utensils, etc.
Three things that could be improved. One, a hairdryer would have been helpful. Second, both my husband and I developed itchy eyes in the house - not sure if it was dust, or something else. Didn't affect our stay as we were out hiking most of the day, but worth mentioning. And lastly, we left on a Sunday, so didn't have to take our trash, but I'd have been irritated to pay a hefty cleaning fee and still have to remove my trash!
However, all in all, would definitely recommend this property. Lovely small house in a great location.

The house was very well kept and clean. All the amenities were included. Only issue is that the home is not very well lit - a bit dark inside. Changing the bulbs from incandescent to LED not only would brighten up the place, but use less electricity. Otherwise, it's charming, quiet and peaceful.

Great Location we had a great time fishing in the river and good location for kayaking. We would love to come back again soon. Our last day there we had a very traumatic event happen and my husband was in the hospital most of the night. I called the rental company to ask for a later checkout if possible because he was finally getting some sleep. I do not know the ladies name that I spoke to but she was so very nice and understanding and she told us that was not a problem at all and if there was anything they could do to help just let them know. Thank you so much for you kindness and we will definitely use Stay Blue Ridge again.

The house location is great for kids. Private, very little traffic on the road. Our grandsons, 9 and 7 years old had a blast. They were able to play in the stream, swimming, jumping rocks, fishing. We had campfires at night. Sat on the porch while they played in the yard. The house is clean and comfy. The kitchen has the basics but I struggled without nonstick pans. Overall everything was wonderful and we are looking forward to staying here again.

Great Place to Stay!
We booked this house just to get away a couple of days and we wanted to spend a day on the New River. This place was great even though it's a older house it is well kelp. We spent all day (7 hours) on the New River and got out right in front of the house. It was very nice not having to drive home afterwards. We will most definitely be back.

Love The Farm House
First off I would like to applaud Stay Blue Ridge and Jarrita and staff y’all are awesome. The Farm house was awesome and a perfect gem it remind me of my grandparents house year’s ago and we had one of the best Thanksgiving just my wife and I. The road is not travel a lot and the New River is across the road and a nice fire pit and only 12 minutes from West Jefferson. The Farm house is a wonderful gem on the New River oh the only thing is we wish it was for sale. Will rent it many more times.

Second time staying here. Very clean and quiet. The owners came by to mow and I explained that the a/c wasn’t keeping up in the evening especially after cooking ( they said it was one of the hottest weeks there). A few hours later they showed up with a new a/c and two fans! We hated that they spent the money, but it saved the week! Super nice people! We plan on going back next year!
