There are 4 old friends that have been fly fishing together for about 25 years! We so much enjoyed the remote location and also able to fish at the same place! We had plenty of room and the house provided everything we needed! We caught some beautiful fish and 1 rainbow was about 20 inches! We will definitely stay again next year! The only thing that was a negative was the road and going up to the parking area at the house! We had 4x4 and we didn’t have any problem! All in all we loved it! Great location!

My stay at River Song Retreat was absolutely amazing. The property was nice and secluded, which made it the perfect peaceful getaway. If you’re looking to truly unwind and disconnect, this is the place to do it. What really stood out was the endless entertainment available. There were plenty of games and books to enjoy, a basketball goal for some outdoor fun, and even a pinball machine that added a unique and exciting touch. There was never a dull moment, whether we wanted to relax indoors or be active outside. The snow was the perfect finishing touch to our vacation. It made the entire experience feel cozy, scenic, and almost magical. Waking up to that beautiful winter backdrop made our stay even more memorable. I would definitely recommend River Song Retreat to anyone looking for a secluded escape with plenty to do and a relaxing atmosphere.

A beautiful property. Our family with 3 grandsons enjoyed the property so much. The boys loved their first fly fishing. And they each caught a trout! We all loved sitting by the creek watching the deer, the herons and surprisingly 3 otters! We also saw turkeys, an owl and a couple of hawks. If you love nature this is perfect. The home is also lovely and has everything you need. Plenty of room. The deck is huge with some coverage that was great the day it rained. Keep in mind if you have physical limitations there are full stairs to get to the main floor and a steep hill from the creek to the house

My group gets together each year and this was our 3rd time at River Song Retreat. We had another great stay. The property fills our needs perfectly and all enjoyed a relaxing week listening to the river, the rain, and the birds. The fish were biting too!

My Wife and I loved River Song Retreat! The location is very private and the creek was fun to fish. We drove to Grayson Highlands and did some hiking. River House Inn for dinner is an absolute must. We cant wait to return next year!

We weren't in the house for a long time just one night but you can say it's beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures. Loved the decor. Hosts are there for you. I would definitely recommend it and rent it again.

This is our second time staying at River Song Retreat and first time staying during the summer. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, but the outdoors call at this property. We had so much fun playing in the river, sitting around the fire and playing games. Wonderful stay and great memories created!

This property is the one. This was our 11th annual guys trip and 2nd time staying at this property. We love the area and the peace that this tucked away piece of heaven offers. The house itself is clean and spacious. The activities down by the river give reason to never have to leave the property. If you do, we recommend swinging through Lansing or West Jefferson for a tasty brew or meal. We'll be back!

Our party consists of 4 Naval Officers that served together during OIF/OEF and meet up every April to fly fish in Ashe County for the last several years. This house has great proximity to our favorite spots, great amenities and the complimentary S’mores fixings were truly the icing on the cake during the nightly fire pit reconnect. A fantastic property we look forward to coming to again next year.

Our family stayed at River Song Retreat over the New Year. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The property is so beautiful and drew every one of us outside. Sitting around the firepit and enjoying the view and sounds of the river, were among the favorite memories for all of us. We had a wonderful time. The house and property are very well maintained and clean. We found everything we needed. They even left a smores kit for us!! We enjoyed fishing and caught many trout. The hot tub was a definite hit and was used every day!!! The views from the deck were beautiful and we enjoyed watching the deer come from the woods and walk across the yard each evening to the water. We saw herons, lots of birds, deer and a beautiful owl. Don't hesitate...make your reservation today!!!!

I live in Myrtle Beach and we go to the mountains in the summertime. I have been to Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, and *Now, North Carolina to rent houses in the mountains. This was by far our best experience! From the ease of Check in three hours early I might ad. To the cleanliness and order of the house. Run! No walk to rent this house, and from this company by far the best rental company I have experienced, including dealing with one living at the beach.

We stayed the weekend at the cabin and it was so fun! We were looking for just a quiet get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We just wanted to hunker down and do nothing! Lol this was the perfect spot, we were able to fish all day, enjoy a fire and we also were able to marsh marshmallows and make s’mores (thanks to the owners-thanks by the way ). We caught several trout and had a ball doing it. The hot tub was great and our kids loved the big jacuzzi tub inside. The cabin had plenty of space and beds for all of us, it was super clean and very homey. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pants and everything we needed to cook. The views were amazing. We started the tradition of coming to the mountains every year 3 years ago with our family and this has been our favorite house yet! Thanks so much for letting us stay. We hope to be back next year!

Perfect getaway
This is the perfect relaxed getaway. The cabin is well maintained. The kids loved playing basketball, four square, and in the creek, and eating s’mores around the fire. The deck is the perfect place to relax. It’s close to West Jefferson, hiking, and tubing; but also secluded for privacy. We will definitely be going back.

Fantastic getaway!
It was a beautiful place and very peaceful! The creek behind the cabin is very relaxing! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and went down to Jefferson/West Jefferson, and stopped by the cheese factory/shop, which was amazing. We will definitely be staying again.

Amazing Getaway!
We loved our stay at the river song retreat. It’s a beautiful location right along the creek. We went to West Jefferson on Saturday to explore. There was a great cheese shop, hiking stores, & several restaurants/breweries. The kids (11 &10 years old) enjoyed a campfire, basketball, frisbee golf, & exploring the wooded area around the house. I fished much of the day on Sunday and caught many sizable trout (rainbow, brown, and brook) out of Helton Creek that borders the property on a cold day. There were plenty of fish. The creek is delayed harvest so catch & release only prior to June 1. All in all, an awesome weekend and we’ll definitely be back.

Peaceful family time
My son and I spent a few days fishing together, watching basketball, cooking on the grill, shooting hoops, and mostly unplugging. It was a refreshing retreat for both of us. The space was clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything transpired as I expected it to. I would highly recommend this retreat for anyone looking to fish, relax, or both.

Perfect Getaway!
The moment you drive up, the relaxing atmosphere sets in. The creek running by the property is simply breathtaking, and perfect in any season! Whether relaxing in the hot tub, or simply enjoying lunch on the beautiful deck, this home is sure to impress! Inside is cozy and spacious, with ample room for the whole family. Family trip!
What an amazing weekend! We were blessed with beautiful weather. The setup in the house and the outside was absolutely fantastic! Fishing was great for my family and we really loved the fire pit area for gathering and smores. Can’t wait to go back!
