Riverstead - Warrensville

Riverstead was a perfect cabin for us (four friends for 40 some years.) Comfortable and well equipped in a great location with privacy. We loved the fire pit by the river and the hot tub, although we could only get one side of the jets to work at a time. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked most meals in. We plan to return to Riverstead in the near future! Our only request is to make the upstairs shower floor to be less slippery. Thanks for a great “stay”!

Riverstead is an absolutely wonderful new cabin that is thoughtfully decorated throughout. As others have mentioned, the beds and quite comfortable and the entire space has a very cozy feel. We felt the kitchen and entire house was well stocked and supplied with many of the things you would need to feel right at home. The seclusion and beauty of this location makes it one the best places we have ever stayed and one that our entire family is eager to return to. Whether inside or out, this is a wonderful place to stay and rest! Thank you!

We were fortunate enough to spend most of August in this beautiful home. It had absolutely everything you could want, including a well stocked kitchen, lots of towels and extra sheets. Everything was high quality and appeared to be new. The beds were very comfortable and the living area was large enough for 6 of us. We had the grandchildren and parents one weekend. They loved tubing in the river then warming up in the hot tub. It was a beautiful, peaceful place. We spent a lot of time on the porch drinking coffee and watching the river and wildlife. We have already booked a month next summer. If you have a chance to stay at Riverstead don't hesitate. It's a gem.

What a great place to stay! We had to change places to stay last minute due to a well problem at another house and wow, It couldn't have been any more perfect! The porch sitting was our favorite, sitting relaxing and overlooking the river! This house was very well stocked for whatever we needed! It was also spotless upon our arrival! It was so cozy and comfortable! Thank your for sharing your place with us, and letting us stay and enjoy on such a short notice! Such sweet neighbors also I hope we are able to come again and enjoy your spacious home!

You have an incredible cabin!! The house was so perfect- new, clean and cozy! You really have thought of everything. As a former art teacher I especially appreciated all of your thoughtful artwork. The Best Modern Cabin!
This cabin is brand new and the attention to detail is amazing. We arrived and noticed immediately how much thought and care went into the building and decorating of the space. The amenities are perfection- fully outfitted kitchen for any cooking needs, plenty of clean towels and linens, games, books, hot tub, and direct access to the river. It's also perfectly located- tucked away in the mountains but close to restaurants and stores. I would love to come back sometime in the warmer months to take advantage of the outdoor activities, but cozying up with family in front of the fireplace was exactly what we needed after a busy Christmas. Thank you to the owners for all your effort and care!

What a cute little mountain resort huddled in arms of nature by the side of New river.The beautiful interiors are exquisite. All amenities were provided with. We are having an amazing time, so worth it!

Amazing Home ion the River
This home is absolutely stunning! So much attention to every detail. The wood in the house is beautiful and sets the tone for the overall design and decorating. Very well appointed - everything you need for a comfortable stay. The furniture is very comfortable and there is plenty of seating both inside and outside. King size beds in every bedroom - such a plus! The large deck overlooks the river. There is a beautiful hot tub for your enjoyment. Plenty of parking and a firepit down by the river! This is the perfect getaway!

Review for Riverstead Cabin We were three couples enjoying a perfect getaway at Riverstead—a beautifully built cabin surrounded by nature, where every detail speaks of comfort and charm. The light-stained wood interiors, cozy gas log fireplace, and thoughtful décor in each king-sized bedroom made our stay truly relaxing. Every room had its own unique touch and a warm rug underfoot, adding to the cabin’s welcoming feel. We spent mornings with coffee on the deck, taking in the peaceful views, and afternoons walking down to the river for tubing and fishing right out front. The hot tub and fire pit made evenings under the stars unforgettable. The location is ideal—just a short drive to West Jefferson, a charming mountain town with shops, cafes, and more. Don’t miss the Ashe County Cheese Factory (the oldest in NC since 1930!)—we picked up some great finds for our cheese board to enjoy with wine back at the cabin. One of the highlights was dinner at The River House Restaurant. Make sure to book in advance for their chef’s choice multi-course meal, paired with live music by local singers. It was a magical experience and the perfect way to end the trip. Riverstead is everything you want in a serene mountain retreat—comfort, charm, adventure, and relaxation all in one. We can’t wait to return.
